[Cardcaptor Sakura cosplay] A Romantic Moment Under the Splendid Summer Fireworks

A brilliant firework flashed across the sky, illuminating everyone's face at that moment and shining right into my heart. I will never forget the day of that fireworks festival. Before the memories fade away, I want to quickly share this romance unique to summer.

I am extremely satisfied with this shoot. First of all, I must mention the equipment used: a Sony A7R V paired with a 50-150GM lens. The lighting conditions at a fireworks festival are highly complex, ranging from strongly backlit fireworks to dim ambient light, which demands exceptional dynamic range from the camera. The 61-megapixel high resolution of the A7R V gave me great confidence during post-cropping, while the large f/2.8 aperture of the 50-150GM brought out a charming out-of-focus bokeh at night, directly turning the exploding fireworks in the background into dreamlike bokeh circles floating in the air, instantly maximizing the summer vibe.

For the outfit concept, I specially chose this off-white yukata with sunflower prints. Summer, sunflowers, and fireworks—these three elements inherently share a strong seasonal resonance. I paired it with yellow flower hair accessories that complement the sunflower patterns on the clothing, making the look fresh yet full of vitality. For the hairstyle, I chose a fluffy wig tied into a playful high ponytail with Japanese stylistic features, making the overall silhouette look light and nimble. The most crucial part of wearing a yukata is the tying of the obi; the wide black belt cinches the waist, which not only creates a great body line but also adds a sense of solemnity to the summer ritual.

The photographer was also very thoughtful with the composition and angles. For instance, in photo three, a low-angle shot was used, with the character slightly turning her head to look at the sky, perfectly capturing the exact second the fireworks burst into their grandest display. The light cascading from above radiated a cool, white-toned, ethereal dreaminess. Photo four, on the other hand, changed to a more open, interactive pose where I slightly extended one arm toward the lens, as if inviting you all to a summer night festival—dynamic and playful. The alternating tones of warm and cool light in this photo set are also fascinating. The warmer presentation in photo two was achieved by coincidentally capturing the warm glow produced by the ambient event lighting reflecting off the fireworks, making the whole look appear very gentle.

The shooting location was actually very bustling. The crowds, picnic mats, orange safety nets, and white container prefabs behind us were all filled with the flavor of real life. I remember a moment when a particularly spectacular firework soared into the sky, and everyone on-site gasped in awe simultaneously. It was in that kind of atmosphere that I found my most relaxed presence in front of the camera. For photography enthusiasts, shooting landscapes is easy, but capturing great portraits amidst crowded spaces and rapidly shifting light is a real test of the equipment and the synergy with the photographer.

Although summer nights are short and fireworks are transient, being able to freeze such beautiful moments through images makes me feel that all the expectations of summer have been fulfilled. I hope that through these photos, you can also feel the warm summer breeze brushing against your cheeks at that moment, and the brilliant visual romance filling the sky.
