This outdoor Yozakura photoshoot had a very tight schedule; specifically, The Thunder card battle suit has a voluminous skirt and numerous accessories, making movement rather cumbersome once worn. Choosing to shoot night scenes in a cherry grove at night made lighting quite tricky to manage, so the photographer and I discussed lighting schemes at length. Under the flashes, the Yozakura cherry blossom petals easily reflect glare, requiring precise lighting angles to produce a translucent, clean feel.

The most intricate parts of this The Thunder card battle suit are the shoulder ruffles and the tail at the back—especially the counterweight of the tail and bells, which droops down very easily if not careful, requiring focused balance control when standing. The various poses shown in the photos, such as looking back over my shoulder and raising the card, were physically demanding under the dragging weight of the garment. The wand prop in hand is solid as well; holding it for extended periods made my arm ache, and I had to coordinate with the wind direction to make the skirt flutter. Shooting throughout the night honestly felt more exhausting than running.

In terms of hair and makeup, to faithfully replicate the character's eye details, I chose green colored contacts paired with a brown wig. The large golden bell at the collar is a major highlight, though I couldn't lower my head to avoid scratching my face. The shoot coincided with the tail end of the full bloom, where the Yozakura atmosphere felt remarkably serene; paired with the black velvet and pink fabric of the costume, capturing its texture tested the camera's dynamic range. During post-processing, the layered depth of the cherry blossoms was preserved while deliberately darkening the background to accentuate the tension of the subject's poses. When shooting full-body frames, paying attention to the skirt's puffiness in the posture was essential—the photographer emphasized maintaining clean leg lines. Wearing Black stockings cosplay in the dark of night is notoriously sensitive to camera angles, and the three-quarter profile standing pose in Photo 2 showed off the leg contours just right. The shoe soles were slippery walking on the grass outdoors; pacing back and forth to find angles inevitably caused the skirt hem to pick up stray grass and dirt, requiring repeated smoothing out during shooting. Although the process was tedious, capturing the character's tangible texture within such a specific environment makes every experience feel uniquely special.
