Shooting this Mornye cosplay set actually took nearly two months from initial character confirmation to final output. The costume and props were built piece by piece by ourselves. The white-and-blue wig you see turned out to tangle easily during fitting; to maintain that fluffy yet artfully wind-blown feel, we kept small combs and setting spray on hand during the shoot, restyling it every few shots. The black choker on my neck was a rigid prop padded with sponge inside so it wouldn't pinch during long wear. The white jacket fabric was chosen for its windproof, waterproof techwear texture to project a crisp futuristic coldness under lights, and finding the semi-transparent lattice mesh for the cuffs took considerable time to ensure ideal translucency with a futuristic patchwork feel.

A primary focus of this shoot was the legs. The starry tights were a major highlights, but making them appear to glow like in the photos required testing numerous studio under-lighting and ambient light combinations. We ultimately settled on a blue-white light setup that made the star pattern appear fluid in close-up shots. For the lying-down posture, instead of ordinary fabric, the ground was laid with entire coils of fiber optic cables illuminated by small floor light strings. Combined with post-processing line FX, these formed glowing blue wave patterns—lying on them was hard and prickly, but seeing the final result made it well worth the discomfort.

The floating blue sphere posed another challenge. Initially, we planned to suspend it with steel wire, but severe wire reflections led us to use ultra-thin fishing line to achieve that seamless floating appearance. I worried the surrounding starry sky special effects background light spots might look cluttered on set, but during selection, the dark backdrop scattered with cool white points framed my white hair and pale skin beautifully.

Regarding pose design, the photographer and I aimed for a quiet, solitary mood that still yearns for light. Thus, the photos feature many upward glances, reaching for light, or gazing into palms. Under strong backlighting, hair strands formed a rim halo, creating a divine appearance that tested camera dynamic range. Rings and wristbands enhanced the tech aesthetic, requiring supple hand gestures without stiffness—for instance, reaching toward the light sphere required multiple wrist angle adjustments to achieve clean arm lines.

In post-processing, rather than altering natural skin tones, we enhanced warm-cool contrast, darkening the backdrop while brightening clothing. Light-painted lines were drawn manually on base images using glow brushes, which took time but added strong dynamic motion. Blue hair tones were color-graded to look natural under outdoor lighting while revealing a light ice-blue texture under dark-toned studio lighting. Our team invested immense time making adjustments, testing both physical expression and the photographer's timing and set layout—it felt like an exhilarating creative brainstorm. Overall, it was a shoot deeply centered on Atmospheric photography. Cosplay is more than wearing the same outfit; it's mastering the character's subtle essence, where lighting distribution and fabric texture serve as narrative language.
