For this Wuthering Waves Aemeath Cosplay photoshoot, a lot of thought went into early communication regarding the set. The theme was set as 'Song of the Starry Sea' and 'Electronic Ghost.' To fit this setting, we specifically tracked down a server room packed with vintage CRT monitors and tangled cables as our shooting location. The overall color scheme was a Cyberpunk clash of magenta-purple and cyan-blue; during on-site lighting setup, I asked the photographer to add magenta and cyan gels to the key lights, which helped separate the subject from the cluttered background. The outfit is a sci-fi combat suit primarily in white, blue, and pink; the midriff-baring design and golden metallic hardware create an intensely futuristic, tech-driven aesthetic when worn. However, the accessories for this costume are quite intricate: the chest gemstone and bow required repeated positioning adjustments, and extra caution was needed when walking, especially with the golden thigh rings, White stockings, and white over-the-knee high-heeled Tall boots. Managing the wig was another major hurdle—long pink hair snagged very easily in a setting riddled with cables, so every time I lay down or leaned against a computer chassis, time had to be spent smoothing it out to prevent any immersion-breaking mishaps.
During shooting, as the post prompts for landscape viewing, we broadened the field of view in our composition as much as possible. For instance, in the pose lying across the plush mat, I had to engage my core to maintain the posture while being mindful of the curve and drape of the skirt. The long white staff prop in my hand had quite a bit of heft; when wielding it, my gaze had to match, conveying the ethereal and somewhat detached demeanor of an electronic ghost. The venue lighting was very dim, relying mainly on prop lights and RGB ambient lights for fill; we had to verify reflector positions multiple times to ensure even illumination across my face. To capture a tech aesthetic entangled in cables, I even proactively arranged the black cables dangling in the background, balancing an oppressive atmosphere with visual beauty. Honestly, lying on the floor and posing sideways was physically taxing because there were few footholds, requiring pure core strength to hold many of the positions. Reviewing the monitor during shooting breaks, I noticed the mix of strobe and continuous lights created a wonderfully mesmerizing effect, making the golden trim on the white combat suit look distinctly three-dimensional. While the entire shoot was exhausting, bringing a beloved character to life in a Cyberpunk setting I'd always dreamed of trying was immensely fulfilling. From early styling to final color grading, this photoshoot aimed to stay true to that sci-fi and ghostly aesthetic, and I hope everyone can feel this unique ambiance.
