[Muryan Cosplay] Fate/Grand Order Kazuradrop Realistic Studio Shoot Experience

The goal of this realistic studio shoot was to recreate the Kazuradrop Muryan cosplay look, with meticulous preparation spanning from costume volume to environmental set design. Upon receiving the outfit, my immediate focus went to the structural details of the collar and sleeves.

The outfit's design is very refined in its fabric selection. The olive green outer robe has a soft fabric with a natural drape, while the voluminous white pleated collar serves as the visual centerpiece of the entire look. During the shoot, to keep the collar crisp without obscuring too much of my face, we used several hidden fastening techniques to ensure it stayed beautifully open before the camera. Black compression arm sleeves and over-the-knee socks added a sharp, structured contrast to the fresh green-and-white color scheme, making the overall color balance rich and striking.

The light blue-grey wig was styled into double buns, trimmed beforehand with layered texture to make the crown look puffier and more voluminous, with stray locks naturally framing my face to soften facial lines. The makeup was kept clean and fresh, focusing primarily on defining brow and eye contours. Paired with light-colored contact lenses, it gave my eyes a clear, focused, and ethereal expression.

As for props, the massive translucent teal wings were a crucial element of the shoot. Made of lightweight, sheer material, they revealed exquisite texture and luminosity under the overhead lighting on set. Securing the wings was quite challenging due to sway, so we reinforced them with invisible support brackets before shooting, ensuring a stable silhouette across various seated poses. The gold glitter prop and white pom-pom held in my hands also elevated the image's delicate quality. I adjusted my hand posture several times to keep my grip looking fluid and natural rather than stiff.

The set construction incorporated withered branches and artificial plants, combined with light blue fabric draped across the floor to create a serene, mystical forest vibe. The advantage of a realistic studio shoot lies in direct, organic lighting that eliminates the need for post-production keying, though the structure of the withered trees placed certain constraints on my standing and sitting poses. To achieve a relaxed seated posture, I leaned my center of gravity slightly forward toward the prop. This pose captured the costume's full silhouette while preventing awkward thigh press marks from prolonged sitting. The soft lighting on set scattered across the draped fabric onto the wings and collar, creating a stunning diffuse reflection effect.

Throughout the shoot, the team worked together seamlessly. The photographer chose a framing strategy combining medium close-ups and tight detail shots to highlight costume elements. Because the wings had a broad wingspan, using a wider focal length prevented cropping the edges of the wings, though careful placement of character position near frame borders was necessary to avoid distracting background elements. Under the Kazuradrop theme, Muryan conveys a mysterious and elegant persona, so during the shoot, I leaned toward quiet, subtle expressions, holding emotion contained within my eyes.

I adjusted hair flow and the angle between my chin and collar numerous times to pinpoint the most camera-friendly angles. Overall, the pacing of this shoot was well-controlled; despite the costume's massive scale, it didn't hinder fluid movement. The lighting texture on the physical wings was utterly captivating, and paired with the organic grain of withered wood, a slight filmic grain touch in post-processing will enhance the mood wonderfully. This shoot was a heartfelt dedication to recreating the character's look and a great test of my ability to command presence within a complex set design.
