For these convention photos of the purple Flower Angel look, we experimented quite a bit with light, shadow, and detailed expression during the shoot.

First was the overall styling preparation. The Purple hairstyle with its purple-and-white gradient had considerable volume and rich curls, requiring plenty of time on site to tame and keep from looking frizzy. The headpiece featured abundant floral accents; to harmonize with the purple motif, I specifically selected various shades of violet and lilac, complemented by feathers and twiggy sprigs. For the makeup, to match the cool, melancholic tone, I chose cool-toned purple eyeshadow and applied dimensional petal-shaped rhinestones beneath the eyes, which produced a lovely, delicate shimmer in natural daylight.

Next came the costume and prop prep. The predominantly white dress featured layered tailoring, with neckline lace and waist ruching adding intricate detail. The translucent iridescent butterfly tulle along the skirt gave off a subtle shimmering sheen under tree shade, while accompanying pearl beading provided a graceful drape. The long-handled weapon prop was much heavier than expected; the wooden grip was sturdily crafted, and its sharp black decorative edges formed a striking silhouette in the sunlight. Resting it on my shoulder required repeatedly recalibrating my center of balance to maintain an elegant posture, truly putting my arm strength and core stability to the test.

To evoke the melancholic vibe described, we focused primarily on profile and three-quarter angles during shooting, using averted gazes to convey a sense of gentle detachment. Dappled natural sunlight filtering through tree leaves cast highlights onto the purple-and-white hair, making the gradient look even more translucent. We deliberately avoided direct, harsh lighting during the shoot to prevent overwhelming the delicate textures of the blossoms and sheer tulle. In post-processing, the main focus was unifying the color palette and muting background greens to make the subject pop. Shooting this outfit under outdoor woodland shade beautifully captured that dreamy, graceful atmosphere.

Even though the venue was bustling and framing shots required patience to dodge crowds, the resulting set matched expectations wonderfully, presenting an ethereal and delicately melancholic aesthetic throughout.
