Shooting this Sandrone Cosplay from Genshin Impact required extensive preparation, from makeup tests to final set design. The patterns and tailoring of the gown form the true soul of this look. The red gem at the chest is securely fastened, and the black-and-gold choker sits right above the collarbones, making the silhouette appear crisp and sharp.

The headpiece utilized multiple layers of stiff fabric, accented with bows and cascading black satin ribbons that took considerable effort to shape. The wig was chosen in a light blonde shade matching the character, with bangs and sideburns trimmed into layers tailored to my face structure. For makeup, blue eyes serve as the focal point of the face; to recreate her gaze from the game, the eye makeup emphasized under-eye eyeshadow and a lowered bottom lash line, which paired with false eyelashes to make the eyes look vivid and striking. The yellow-and-white bouquet held in hand was actually a studio prop that, under warm lighting, softened the cold stiffness of the black-and-white attire.

During the shoot, close-ups with the bouquet highlighted delicate facial makeup details—especially the interplay between the blue contact lenses and highlights under camera lights. Medium shots featured the skirt lifted slightly to showcase the metal decorative structure at the waist. These crisscrossing double-ring metal buckles adorned with small red gems added heavy craftsmanship details to the black-and-white hemmed skirt. The flared bell sleeves featured golden inner lining and red paneled accents. Extra care was needed when lifting the skirt to prevent the wide cuffs from dragging on the floor. White gloves were an indispensable touch, heightening the distinct identity of Genshin The Marionette and master.

The set design also complemented the character's disposition seamlessly: diamond-patterned wallpaper lent a subtle retro court aesthetic, while adjacent wooden bookshelves, sunflowers, and crimson velvet curtains instantly elevated the overall mood. Midway through the shoot, the voluminous skirt almost knocked over a nearby vase, though thankfully we avoided disaster. Wearing this heavy gown indoors felt somewhat stifling, but seeing the finished photos made every effort worthwhile—it delivered that delightful sense of revival. The classic black, white, and red palette punctuated by gold accents looks stunning against any background. I am particularly fond of the close-up gaze, where the light reflected in the blue eyes conveys a refined, mechanical puppet-like elegance.

For Genshin Impact players, faithfully recreating such a complex mid-length formal gown requires immense patience—from fabric selection and prints down to golden trim stitching.
