Today, this Sandrone Marionette cosplay styling from Genshin Impact finally came to fruition! The costume design is remarkably layered—from the off-the-shoulder white lace bodice and detached black sleeves to the black-and-gold cutout corset around the waist, every single element required meticulous fitting. What I was most satisfied with was this pale ashen-blonde wig; paired with makeup featuring deliberately deepened shading at the outer corners of the eyes, the overall texture matched my desired vision almost perfectly. During initial prep, adjusting the curvature of the wig's bangs and the red ribbons on both sides took quite some time, all to make the overall proportions look more harmonious. The classic black, white, and gold palette is timeless, while the diamond-shaped cutouts on the sleeves and the starry shimmer on the skirt hem look splendid under the lens. The ruby jewel at the waist served as the ultimate finishing touch.
For this shoot, we selected a Vintage style indoor setting. The red brick walls, stained-glass windows, wooden tables, chairs, and vintage radio props in the background provided endless shooting inspiration. To capture Sandrone's signature blend of languor and exquisite poise, I explored diverse poses and expressions. When standing, I deliberately turned sideways to allow the skirt hem to drape in a more natural arc, crossing my legs to visually elongate proportions with the help of White stockings and black platform shoes. Stepping into this outfit and holding a cup of black tea truly made me feel immersed in the character's serene, quiet world. Sunlight streaming through the stained glass cast kaleidoscopic patches of color across the floor, enriching the frame's chromatic depth, which I maximized to cultivate the ambiance.
Shooting seated poses was actually quite challenging. The skirt is composed of an overskirt with a white base and gold trim layered over a dark pleated skirt. With so many tiers, sitting down easily caused the fabric to bunch up, requiring continuous adjustments to smooth out each fold of the skirt hem. We also captured the detail of holding the teacup from multiple angles, hoping to portray an effortless, graceful slice-of-life charm. Sometimes, to achieve an elegant arm line, I had to hold the tea-holding pose for minutes until my arm went numb, but seeing the flawless results on the monitor made every second worthwhile.
In terms of posing choreography, beyond standard standing and seated postures, I experimented with leaning against a wooden cabinet, placing hands on hips, and gently touching my neckline. These subtle body movements effectively conveyed the character's distinct personality. Placing my hands on my hips in particular made the gold filigree cutout patterns and ruby inlay at the waist stand out crisply as the visual centerpiece of the ensemble. For props, in addition to the teacup and saucer, I incorporated dried flowers and greenery from the set to inject a sense of life, preventing the composition from feeling static.
After the entire shoot, I was honestly exhausted physically. Thick platform shoes combined with intricate attire tested my stamina during prolonged pose holds. Yet seeing the red ribbons cascading down, the striking contrast between the White stockings and black shoe vamps, and the refined metallic sheen and lace textures of the corset in the final captures made all the exhaustion vanish. I hope everyone can feel the charm of this Anime cosplay where vintage romance intertwines with fantasy through this Genshin Impact Sandrone Marionette cosplay set.
