On January 2, I shot this Arknights Ptilopsis cosplay outfit, Touching the Clouds, at the outdoor venue in Pazhou. It coincided with the Firefly ACG Expo, so the outdoor area was crowded. To avoid cluttered backdrops, we specifically selected a spot beneath the shade of trees, utilizing handheld reflectors to stabilize lighting. The costume is predominantly white and light blue, crafted from airy, lightweight fabrics with exceptionally wide, billowing sleeves. Sitting on a mat in White stockings during shooting (Photo 3), the graceful drape of the gauze skirt and the translucent sheen of the White stockings under natural light were vividly captured. The wing hair ornaments atop long, straight silver-white hair required rigorous styling fixation; in gusty outdoor breezes, the bangs needed constant tidying. The props were a translucent folding fan and tassels, lending an ethereal, fairy-like grace when waved. During the session, we experimented with several poses: a look-back over the shoulder (Photo 1), extending the flowing sleeves (Photo 2), as well as close-ups half-covering the face and winking (Photo 6). Photographer NightDiva used a large-aperture lens to skillfully blur out background crowds and railings, focusing sharply on facial expressions and fabric textures. Fill light from reflectors cleanly accentuated the backless cut and blue lace-up straps, ensuring soft, gradual transitions of light and shadow. To channel the character's serene, aloof aura, I wore orange colored contacts paired with soft reddish eye makeup. The delicate fabric easily caught stray grass clippings, so movement was carefully measured; fortunately, the finalized images preserved authentic live-action realism without over-processing. The compositions—whether sitting on the white mat with the skirt unfurled or standing to showcase leg lines in White stockings—were captured by fine-tuning angles step by step around the props. Although the garments were light to wear, disassembling the intricate sash and headpieces was somewhat tedious; fortunately, the shoot went smoothly, and the resulting character demeanor and material textures faithfully matched the original design illustrations.
