[Eyjafjalla Cosplay] Arknights: Caught a Little Lamb

The fidelity of this Arknights Eyjafjalla outfit was brought as close to the original design as possible. To portray this character well, a lot of details went into the preparation. The red-and-white diamond check pattern around the skirt hem was made from custom fabric, giving it much more three-dimensional texture than ordinary prints. The ruffles on the white top were layered on step by step; although somewhat heavy, paired with the dark blue corset waistband, it cinched a slender waistline nicely. As for that brown waist pouch, I tried it on and adjusted it for quite a while to find a position where it wouldn't block the skirt hem while hanging naturally. Regarding the hairstyle, multiple brown curly wigs were stacked to add thickness and shape the top curvature, with hair wax used to fix the ahoge (stray hair strand) and that pair of milky-white sheep ears. The bases of the sheep ears are stiff and pinched my head a bit when worn for a long time. Paired with reddish-pink colored contacts and eyeshadow, the resulting photos were truly recognizable, looking just like a little sweet lamb.

The shoot consisted of live Anime convention snaps and formal posed shots. The weather at the Anime convention was sweltering, and wearing multi-layered skirts plus White stockings was genuinely stuffy. The giant golden fork prop in hand was paramount and served as one of the most critical visual focal points in the entire set. Its weight exceeded expectations; relying solely on wrist strength was unstable, requiring arm and shoulder coordination. Consequently, many poses in the photos used the fork as a support point, such as resting my chin on my hand or holding it horizontally. The White stockings were specially chosen with just the right thickness to achieve a subtle sheer effect, which, combined with the black chunky-heeled pumps, visually elongated the proportions of both legs. In the standing shot with one leg lifted, balancing my center of gravity was a real physical test. Because the floor was hard, stepping on the ground in block heels actually hurt quite a bit. Fortunately, the photographer's snapping skills were fantastic, capturing many graceful postures—such as the kneeling chin-resting pose where the skirt flared out just right, creating a languid and adorable vibe. Although the prop was heavy and the hem could trip me up, bringing a beloved character to life in three dimensions is immensely rewarding.

The overall color palette of this outfit is a bright, clear blue, combined with white lace that exudes a spring-like feel. The Anime convention was bustling with many fellow fans coming over for photos and chats, so quite a bit of time was spent smiling and posing. This hands-on experience is entirely different from looking at character art; it requires thinking about how to make character lore more three-dimensional, capturing subtle inner habits through a single gaze or hand gesture. During shooting, being surrounded by onlookers made me somewhat reserved at first, but once I relaxed, the poses became much more natural and the resulting photos turned out much more ideal. Every shutter press involved careful thought and adjustments, hoping to do full justice to the character's design.
