[Momoka Hanyuu cosplay] Arknights Carnival Anime convention Hall Roaming Log

This set of photos at the carnival was captured through a candid series of stops and strolls across the convention hall. A lot of prep work went into styling this Arknights Momoka Hanyuu look. The red-and-black plaid dress serves as the core of the ensemble, featuring a distinctly tailored waist. The neckline is trimmed with white ruffles, accented by a slender black tie cord and topped with an exaggerated red bow on the chest; shifting the visual weight upward creates a taller, more poised posture. The hem features layered black lace patchwork that sways softly with every movement. A golden chain and black buttons at the waist add intricate dimension, which, paired with the oversized brown striped blazer outerwear, directly channels the character's vintage, playful charm. The wig and makeup were equally paramount for this shoot: the orange-to-pale-blonde gradient twin-tail wig had rich, thick volume, with side tendrils trimmed to flatter the face contour. The two oversized brown bow hairpieces were quite substantial and needed ample bobby pins fastened into the wig cap to prevent shifting during motion. Because of the bright orange tone of the wig, I selected reddish-brown eyeshadow to harmonize the palette, paired with defined lashes and eyeliner to translate that 2D character delicacy onto a real face while maintaining skin breathability. The ambient lighting inside the hall on the day of the shoot was actually rather complicated: numerous exhibition booths cast cool blue and purple mood lighting, which could easily make the red-and-black plaid look muted. The photographer @毒奶嘴 handled this brilliantly, utilizing a wide aperture and ambient light bokeh to not only blur out background crowds but also lift the overall contrast, allowing the warm tones of the hair and wardrobe to pop strikingly against the cool backdrop. During poses, we drew inspiration from official character standing illustrations, such as placing one hand on the hip while raising the other, or clutching the jacket hem while resting on one tiptoe. To capture the dynamic flutter of the skirt and twin-tails, I jumped multiple times, engaging core stability to keep movements light and graceful. The seated floor shot happened spontaneously when I grew tired and spotted a white plush rug; I sat down with knees tucked, hands resting over them. Paired with White stockings and black leather loafers, a slight low-angle shot yielded an endearing, gentle perspective. Incorporating White stockings was key to defining the character's persona, with the black garter strap and miniature ribbon details at the cuffs drawing immediate attention in full-body shots. Maintaining costume integrity during on-location or Anime convention roaming is truly a physical feat: twin-tails get bumped in crowded aisles, and dress pleats require frequent smoothing. Yet it is the layering of these very details that ensures the final shots meet expectations. This photo set recorded the ambient warmth, light, and bustling energy of the venue that day, serving as an attempt to bring this game character to life in three dimensions through my own lens.
