Preparations for this Navia shoot took quite a long time. As the young mistress of the Spina di Rosula, her ensemble is extraordinarily rich in details. Let's start with the hat that catches everyone's eye first: this wide-brimmed hat is adorned not only with large navy blue fabric roses and golden ribbons, but also with that silver-metallic web-like structure on the side. To prevent it from drooping when worn, I reinforced the interior with hidden support; while stunning, it certainly carries some weight. The accompanying vintage parasol was just as demanding: to capture the weight and opulence of the original artwork, I compared fabrics for the canopy and the surrounding yellow ruffled trim for a long time. It feels genuinely substantial in hand, and holding it aloft with one hand during the shoot while maintaining the young mistress's relaxed elegance made my arm quite sore.

For hair and makeup, Navia's voluminous blonde waves are the very essence. I experimented with several wig styling options and ultimately settled on long, textured curls with defined layers so that the hair strands would flow naturally in the breeze or during dynamic motion. I chose blue contact lenses with slightly higher saturation so they would look clearer and more translucent under lighting; paired with her signature blunt bangs and sidelocks, they framed my face contours beautifully. In the eye makeup, I intensified the blending on the outer half of the eyeliner with a subtle upward flick, striving to recreate that confident yet proudly spirited gaze.

Regarding the costume, the upper navy bodice was tailored from jacquard-textured fabric, with the golden embroidery and star-shaped metallic embellishments stitched on piece by piece. The white lace at the collar and the black lace trim of the choker were layered to embody aristocratic nobility without feeling overly cumbersome. The detached sleeves were crafted from semi-sheer mesh, finished at the edges with white ruffles and blue ribbons, while the black gloves featured fishnet detailing across the back of the hands—details pushed to the maximum. The circular helm-like ornament at the waist is another favorite piece of mine, finished in blue and gold to evoke a maritime nautical touch.

While shooting, to harmonize with the tonal quality of this ensemble, I designed several engaging, interactive poses. In one shot, I reached one hand outward with a slight head tilt and a gentle smile to channel Navia's warm, vivacious personality; in others, I rested one hand on the hat's brim while locking eyes with the camera, projecting the young mistress's poise and subtle pride. Because the costume's construction is intricate and the skirt volume is vast, adjusting poses required immense care to ensure metallic parts didn't knock against each other and the skirt's drape framed beautifully.

The outdoor lighting that day was quite cooperative: despite being overcast, the diffused light rendered the contrast between the navy blue and gold with crisp clarity. Pacing around while holding such a large parasol and maintaining expression control was definitely a physical workout, but seeing all these intricate details vividly preserved in the final frames made every bit of effort worthwhile. I am personally thrilled with the overall texture and fidelity of this set.
