To explore an alternate interpretation of Kamisato Ayaka in everyday school life, I chose an ensemble infused with sailor uniform elements for this cosplay photoshoot. The entire shoot was framed around a rainy after-school concept. The core styling goal was preserving her graceful, gentle elegance even after stepping outside the canonical game world. The long-sleeved white sailor top paired with a navy pleated skirt, accented by navy stripes along the collar, triple-bar cuff details, and a blue necktie with specialized print accents, served as faithful stylistic homages in the details.

Wig cutting and styling were the primary focus of early prep. The silvery-white long hair with blunt bangs needed natural, fluid layering, and I spent a great deal of time setting the fibers to ensure they caught the wind effortlessly during dynamic movement. A deep navy bow crowned the head, flanked on both cheeks by vibrant pink ribbon hairclips; this contrast of cool and warm accents created charming visual highlights. For makeup, blue contact lenses were selected to match her eye color, with eye makeup accentuating delicate lashes and aegyo-sal, a subtle beauty mark placed below the right eye, and lips finished with a dewy, translucent gloss. The entire base remained clean and radiant, steering clear of heavy textures.

The weather on the day of the shoot was wonderfully accommodating, delivering an authentic rainy night. To lean into the theme, I brought along a clear plastic umbrella glistening with dewdrops, which, against the cool ambient light, metal railings, and puddle reflections on the ground, instantly cultivated a moist, cool ambiance. A black leather shoulder satchel and deep red buckle loafers paired with pure white over-the-knee socks anchored the palette with poised, layered balance. In terms of wear, keeping the White stockings pristine during an outdoor rainy shoot required vigilance to avoid mud splatters and preserve overall aesthetic cleanliness.

In pose choreography, I explored varied angles to capture candid states—glancing back over my shoulder toward the camera, clasping the umbrella handle with both hands, or leaning slightly forward as hair strands drifted in the breeze. Night outdoor shooting demanded refined lighting control: we leveraged cool street lamps as environmental wash while directing warm fill light onto the face, crisply defining silhouettes while flattering natural skin tones. Raindrops on the umbrella, fluttering hair, and glossy reflections on the pavement added irreplaceable organic spontaneity to the frames.

Tying into the recent HEYTEA x Genshin Impact collaboration and arriving right in time for Kamisato Ayaka's birthday, completing this modern school-themed cosplay carried special commemorative significance for me. Merging a sailor uniform with a rainy night backdrop was a refreshing creative experiment. From garment curation and makeup design to on-location shooting, every phase received dedicated effort. Seeing the character's presence shine through the final images instantly dissolved all the fatigue from the process, offering a fantastic reference for future slice-of-life creative shoots.
