[Nahida Cosplay] Lesser Lord Kusanali's Daily Life: Hurry and Seek Shelter from the Rain!

Slipping into this outfit, the first thing I wanted to do was strike a cute pose for the camera, then remind everyone to quickly take shelter from the rain—after all, the saying "watch out or mushrooms will grow on your head" is no joke! The character I cosplayed this time is the Dendro Archon from Genshin Impact. While the overall look leans toward fresh and agile, actually wearing it revealed far more details than expected. The wig features a white base with a light green gradient; the hair strands are smooth, but styling the large side buns and bangs took quite a bit of time. Securing the metal-and-black headpiece at the crown took some effort as well, but fortunately, the final result hit the right mark. For makeup, I deliberately enhanced the reddish flush around my eyes and paired it with grey-green contact lenses, aiming to recreate an eye expression that feels youthful yet carries a touch of mystery. Eye shadow blending was kept natural without being overly flashy, and a matte peach lip color was chosen to soften the overall demeanor.

The costume's mandarin collar visually elongates the neck, while the black-and-gold main bodice offers great texture. The golden chest pendant and yellow petal-shaped ornament serve as the visual focal point, requiring careful camera angles to avoid harsh reflections during shooting. The gold bangles on my arms had a bit of weight, but paired with the off-the-shoulder cut and green-and-white arm sleeves, they actually made the look feel lighter. The flower garland decoration on the lower half was manually adjusted by me; arranging the pink, blue, and green artificial flowers evenly was key to preventing the skirt drape from warping. The fabric has subtle folds, so to capture a natural, breathing feel, I relaxed my body as much as possible, lifting my hands to simulate casting Dendro abilities or gently holding a tiny flower.

For the shoot setting, we picked an indoor studio area featuring a green-and-white checkerboard pattern that echoed my outfit colors, while a red chair and pink blanket added a charming, casual contrast gap. Frankly, this set didn't rely on overly complex lighting setups; side lighting brought out the wig's highlights while facial shadows were contained to the sides of the nose bridge to define facial structure three-dimensionally. Since Lesser Lord Kusanali's lore leans toward "wisdom" and "nature," I refrained from exaggerated smiles, maintaining a subtle purse of the lips and a quiet, attentive gaze that better suits her intrinsic aura.

Truth be told, as appealing as this costume looks, moving around in it poses quite a challenge. The hair ornament and wig are heavy, leaving my neck sore after a full day, and the hard chest piece pokes my chin when squatting, so we mostly favored seated poses or slightly leaning stances during the shoot. Yet every time I see the fresh color combinations in the final photos, all the effort feels completely worth it. I intentionally preserved the natural curvature of hands captured in candid shots without over-editing the soft pink nails, because I firmly believe cosplay is not just about replicating appearance, but bringing the character's "living presence" alive in front of the camera.

Besides official Genshin Impact illustrations, the styling inspiration also drew from light-and-shadow techniques in fan art, leading to a softer color palette without relying heavily on sharpening or heavy filters. During makeup application, I placed subtle highlights at the inner corners and under the eyes, giving the gaze a vibrant, crystalline brilliance characteristic of Dendro. The leaf motifs on the skirt sway softly when walking; though static photos cannot fully capture motion, the craftsmanship shines through the fabric texture.

Finally, I'd like to say that every cosplay attempt is a process of rediscovering oneself. While I may never command plants like a true deity, in this photoset at least, I strove to freeze that tranquil yet playfully cute expression. I hope when viewing these photos, everyone can feel a slice of the gentle healing unique to Dendro—and most importantly, don't get soaked in the rain, because if mushrooms really sprout on your head, I won't be responsible for picking them!
