Today, I mainly want to share some details and feelings about this Venti cosplay outfit on-site. The overall costume is dominated by white and champagne gold. Although it looks very light, the shoulder and skirt layering are quite rich, especially the semi-transparent cape on the back, which takes on a fluid texture under the light. The wig is a specially customized blue gradient with sectioned braids, topped with the signature golden hairpiece and cyan flower accents, looking very three-dimensional in person.
This time, I deliberately chose the barefoot version with anklets—first to recreate the character setting, and second to shift the visual focal center via straps and small ankle bells. Walking around the venue, the small bells clinked softly, creating a magical feeling of "wind." The gold and white straps needed readjustment while walking so they wouldn't slip out of place and ruin the shot.
As for poses, these photos feature a relaxed seated posture on a ladder. A small metallic ladder is very practical at anime conventions, accommodating high and low angles while cleanly separating the cosplayer from the background crowd. In the photos, I kept my sitting posture as relaxed as possible, with one leg slightly extended and the other naturally bent, extending body lines along with hand movements. I especially love the last photo reaching out—it feels like actively breaking the distance to the camera lens, making the set less stiff.
Sunlight on the convention day was a bit harsh outdoors, so the makeup featured a sheer, clean base. Earth-toned eyeshadow defined contours, paired with cyan contact lenses to give the eyes an elven depth for this Elf ears cosplay concept. The wig was thinned out significantly—though voluminous, it isn't heavy, making it very comfortable for walking around the convention for hours.
Many friends asked about maintaining this look. White clothing is tricky to maintain, especially multi-layered cuffs and collars that wrinkle easily. So every time I do this look, I carefully steam the clothes and cape the night before. The leg straps are made of a stiffer elastic band directly against the skin, which can feel tight after a while, requiring breaks to loosen them up. This is the "pain and pleasure" of doing convention cosplay.
Regarding light distribution, the late afternoon sun hit from behind and to the side, making top hair strands and shoulder chiffon glow with soft light. Unfortunately, the venue was crowded, making it hard to find empty spots for these convention photos, but the photographer was adept at angles, using a wide aperture to blur out background crowds—preserving convention atmosphere while highlighting the main subject.
The blue-white tones set against gray convention pillars created a warm-and-cool color contrast that felt very pleasing. Overall, these convention photos captured moments of gentle breeze, serving as a homage to this character. The character's setting is closely tied to the "wind," and the feeling of wind blowing through hair and hem is the true soul of this styling.
Holiday conventions are always bustling. Moving through crowds in this gear is tiring, but seeing everyone's passion for anime culture makes the effort feel worthwhile. Honestly though, after returning home, my muscles were quite sore—especially the leg with straps—definitely needing a good night's rest.
