When shooting this set, we primarily centered on the original design of Grea the Dragonborn from Granblue Fantasy, blending in the aloof and commanding aura typical of a divine realm war maiden. Although the original concept features scale-patterned armor and naval artillery rigging, under this vintage gothic theme, we opted for a white tulle dress paired with golden brooches and armbands, replacing the mechanical rigidity with a more static, elegant magnificence. For makeup and styling, we adhered to the 2D setting with silver hair and red eyes, complemented by golden dragon horns, maintaining a cold, commanding gaze.
Wearing the costume was quite a challenge. The white opera gloves and clear-heeled sandals beautifully highlighted the leg lines, though moving and standing required extra care to prevent snags. To match the Vintage style ambiance, we custom-ordered a deep crimson velvet sofa, decorated the set with gold-framed oil paintings and red roses, and prepared a wine goblet as a prop. During the shoot, the photographer guided me through various postures on the sofa—such as crossing and elevating my legs—to better showcase the drape of the dress and the leg contours. To project the character's commanding presence, I held the glass as if about to drink while tilting my chin slightly upward, keeping my gaze sharp, untamed, and aloof.
In terms of props, the abundant red roses and vintage frames introduced a painterly, textured feel, while the red clock face and black vine motifs in the background broadened the spatial depth. Color grading in post-processing deepened the shadows into richer, darker red tones, making the white dress and silver hair stand out even more. As an authentic Roleplay endeavor, this set took substantial prep time, with precise coordination between the wig and contact lenses being essential. Throughout the shoot, the photographer constantly fine-tuned my movements—such as the exact angle and height of lifting the hemline—to capture optimal dynamic tension. For fans of Granblue Fantasy, Grea the Dragonborn's majestic yet mysterious temperament is what captivates me most. This shoot is a tangible expression of my interpretation of the character, and I hope these photos convey her unique charm and presence to everyone who views them.
