[Hindenburg cosplay] Azur Lane, the Succubus Contract under Black and Red Wings

"Mortal, are you my Commander?"

As a high-level existence of the abyss, I never easily extend my hand to mortals, but since you dare to look straight into my eyes, that contract has already been established. This time, I chose an outfit that is both highly faithful visually and carries some of my own preferred sexy elements to present Hindenburg's highly oppressive yet charming succubus image.

Let's start with the head. This red long straight wig took about two hours to trim and style back and forth to present a natural luster and lightweight feel. The length and curve of the bangs had to be just right to frame the facial contours. For the pair of black demon horns on top of my head, I specially picked a style with a rough texture material, so it wouldn't look cheap under high overhead lights, but rather carry an organic texture. The wide black collar on the neck, with that brass-colored metal round buckle in the center, is the finishing touch of the entire outfit's texture. Paired with the halter-style ruffled black top, it can be said to preserve the character's elements while looking after both wearability and aesthetics.

The pair of black and red demon wings on the back is the visual center of gravity for this costume. The wings are black on the outside and red on the inside, with relatively sharp serrated edges. Paired with black leather straps, they don't appear overly heavy while producing a beautiful gradient effect when light penetrates them. I was sitting on that bar stool at the time, and to keep the wings from looking cramped, I adjusted my shoulder positions several times to ensure they could unfold into a relaxed curve behind my back.

The configuration of the lower body is the key to fully displaying the succubus temperament. The black high-waisted shorts are paired with a sexy leg ring, and then topped with a delicate, semi-sheer black tights outfit. I have to say, black tights paired with patent leather high heels is truly a lethal combination. Stepping into this pair of nearly ten-centimeter black glossy high heels, one's entire center of gravity and posture change accordingly, elongating the body lines to look more relaxed while beautifully highlighting that lazy yet dominant aura. The long black leather whip in my hand serves to enrich the outfit details while acting as a great prop for body language.

In the slightly complex light and shadow environment of an anime convention, the photographer utilized a high overhead light to create a sense of the stage. The patent leather high heels and my black tights reflected a dazzling luster under the light, keeping the entire frame from a mediocre flat feel and gaining a stronger three-dimensional effect. Sitting on that black metal bar stool, with one leg crossed or casually resting on the crossbar, paired with a hand on my chin or lifting the whip, the atmospheric vibe was instantly maximized for this convention photography project. The core charm of this succubus setting lies in that push-and-pull temptation and fatal sense of danger. I don't need to make too many forced expressions; as long as the gaze is firm enough and the corners of my mouth slightly curl up, the subtle emotions in the photos can be passed down.

Cosplay is often not just about putting on a piece of clothing, but temporarily immersing oneself in that character's state of mind. From the comfort of wearing the wig to whether the wings will catch on the stool when sitting down, every detail needs to be clearly considered before shooting to present a natural sense of relaxation. We didn't actually do too much post-processing decoration on this set of work because I always feel that excellent costumes, props, and makeup combined with on-site ingenuity are what preserve the character's true aura. I hope that through these lenses, you can feel the unique charm of this character, with an all-out dominant aura that is full of allure.
