[Hiroi Kikuri cosplay] Bocchi the Rock! Tipsy Everyday Life

This shoot project focused on Hiroi Kikuri from Bocchi the Rock! To accurately capture that slightly decadent yet carefree rock senior state of mind, I communicated extensively with the photographer beforehand. The advantage of white studio photography is that the lighting is exceptionally clean and controllable, but the challenge lies in creating a cozy, lived-in narrative without an authentic physical room. In set decoration, we deliberately brought in a small white mini-fridge and a round wooden table, utilizing the cool white glow from inside the fridge to form a temperature contrast against the warm key lights in the studio, crafting that late-night solitary drinking tipsy mood.

For the rock style outfit, I selected a light gray spaghetti-strap bodysuit paired with an oversized black-and-white athletic windbreaker, intentionally letting the jacket slip off the shoulders to reveal the neck and collarbone lines, adding breathability and casual everyday ease to the frame. Styling the wig also took considerable time: the pink blunt bangs needed to look clean yet casually disheveled, with stray wisps left around the thick side braid; paired with pink-purple eyeshadow and black nail polish, it established a languid, edgy aesthetic. The silver beer can in hand was not just a prop, but the very vessel of the character's soul. Throughout the session, I chased that relaxed, slightly off-balance yet vibrantly alive body language that follows a few drinks.

The posture sitting on the ground in the first photo was meant to depict the senior casually lounging on a rug after drinking—legs crossed, elbows resting loosely on her knees, gaze drifting slightly to the side with a hazy look, and the jacket slouching into the crook of the arm, keeping the overall posture relaxed and unguarded. The second photo seated atop the round wooden table offered a more visually striking expression: legs crossed naturally and hanging down with insteps pointed, one hand propping up weight on the tabletop, and the other holding the beer can by her cheek while staring straight into the camera. This slightly tilted composition visually elongated the leg lines while naturally showcasing the slim fit of the camisole and the curves of the silhouette.

The entire shoot prioritized fluid continuity of movement and subtle micro-expression control. To channel that untamed spirit, I avoided rigid poses, immersing myself in the mindset of returning home from a livehouse gig and opening the fridge to casually grab a cold beer. Photographer Hongbai was fantastic at catching candid dynamic moments, and the white cyclorama space at Yuzi Photography Studio gave us immense creative freedom. The final texture of these anime cosplay photos faithfully matches my personal interpretation of Hiroi Kikuri—capturing both the carefree spirit of a rocker and her distinctive personal allure.
