I attended both days of the Wuhan Dreamland Comic Con this weekend, being present on both the 1st and 2nd. For this convention, I prepared three completely different Anime cosplay outfits and styles in advance. On the morning of day one, I wore a light-blue lace dress. This outfit had immense detail—smoothing out the ruffles on the skirt and fixing the small angel wings on the back alone took nearly an hour, and the wig required meticulous detangling. The makeup for this look leaned sweet and radiant; the photographer found angles in front of an easel and floral setup, utilizing soft natural light to achieve a wonderfully airy and translucent feel.
By the afternoon of day one, I changed into a glossy black mini-skirt paired with a red witch hat, carrying a trident prop and wearing small devil wings on my back. This styling carried an aggressive edge. The photographer suggested seeking out quieter corners of the venue, utilizing the dimmer ambient lighting and overpowering the background with off-camera flash to naturally imbue the Convention photography with a moody, dark atmosphere. Moving around in this outfit was genuinely exhausting, especially while walking in high heels, but seeing the results on camera made it all worthwhile.
Day two's schedule was even more packed. In the morning, I went with a tactical techwear aesthetic: a black cropped jacket paired with a red necktie, leather shorts underneath, distressed Techwear black stockings, and chunky techwear boots. This outfit accentuated body proportions beautifully, and I'm especially grateful to the photographer for guiding my poses and ensuring my grip on the prop firearm looked natural. To capture a cold, resolute vibe, we took numerous shots against a rocky textured backdrop wall, where key lighting drew sharp, attractive reflections off the leather. In the afternoon, I switched into a magnificent lace maxi-gown, navigating the convention halls with its trailing train and mingling with fellow cosplayers.
Regarding the TFP photoshoot collaborations, I arranged shoots with several anime-style photographers. Convention photography truly puts the synergy between photographer and cosplayer to the test. Amidst dense crowds and chaotic lighting, one often needs to scout locations with natural light or neon signage ahead of time. During outfit changes, I used short breaks to touch up makeup and reset wigs to ensure optimal camera readiness. Over two days, my step count exceeded 20,000 steps daily and my feet were aching, but capturing so many varied styles across these convention photos was deeply gratifying.
