Putting together this Nero look took a lot of thought and effort, from pattern-making the costume to choosing every accessory. The texture of this red velvet coat is superb, revealing a delicate luster under the lights, and the gold fringed epaulettes sway gently with every step, which really elevates the imperial presence. To keep the inner white ruffles and the red-and-yellow stand collar crisp and structured, I spent a lot of time ironing them beforehand. Styling the wig was also quite a project; pale blonde fibers tend to look frizzy easily, so before shooting, I used a curling wand to give the sideburns a slight inward curve, which nicely framed my face. For the two iconic ahoge (cowlicks) on top of the head, I secured them with hidden bobby pins and strong-hold setting spray, making them look lively and bouncy on camera. For the makeup, turquoise contact lenses were paired with reddish-brown eyeshadow, and the eyeliner was deliberately winged out at the outer corners to add a touch of allure, with bottom lashes drawn individually with great care. Because the outfit features a low-cut neckline, leaving the collarbone area exposed, I paired it with a delicate thin necklace as an accent to complement the large white bow, bringing the focal point cleanly together. Regarding props, besides the vintage handheld mirror and the exaggerated giant fork, that cake was something I prepared specially—the piped cream and strawberries looked so realistic that they made my mouth water. Shooting in the pink room, I experimented with various angles to match different props; for instance, aiming for a playful look while wielding the giant fork, and showing a gentler side when holding up the cake. By the end of the session, my shoulders were quite sore, but seeing that confident, slightly tsundere Nero come alive through the lens made every bit of effort worth it. This was not merely a simple photo shoot, but an expression of my own interpretation of the character. The styling and makeup today actually incorporated many of my personal ideas. For instance, I deliberately blended the eye makeup over a slightly larger area than usual to complement the wig and the anime aesthetic. I checked all the metal buttons on the outfit several times to ensure none were loose or producing harsh glares. The giant fork was made of lightweight material, but its size made unnatural hand placements easy to catch on camera, so the photographer guided me throughout to adjust my grip angle and keep my hands looking effortless. The pink tones of the background matched wonderfully with the red-and-white palette of my costume, and the plush toys not only enriched the composition but also softened the formality of the military style. While posing, I also tried imitating various expressions the character might have—sometimes a confident smile looking straight into the lens, other times tilting my head slightly toward the props nearby. The whole process felt like acting out a mini story, which was immensely satisfying. Huge thanks to the team for their great synergy; the lighting was beautifully clear and translucent, capturing both the rich texture of the fabric and the natural glow of the skin.
