[Nero Cosplay] Fate/Grand Order Red and White Swimsuit: Valentine's Day Beach at Sunset

Putting on this red and white striped swimsuit, attaching the white hair ornament and blonde short wig, I instantly got into character. This photo set taken by the beach today happened to fall on Valentine's Day, so I specially chose this bright, character-fitting outfit for a Beach photoshoot.

Choosing the seaside for this shoot environment, sunset light is usually the hardest to capture, but fortunately the natural lighting today was great. My photographer colleague helped find the light angles so the warm glow of the sunset could fall evenly across my hair and shoulders. Since the character inherently features vivid golden hair and green eyes, to get closer to the setting I specifically picked emerald green contact lenses paired with defined yet unexaggerated eye makeup. The makeup emphasized eye structure and complexion, using coral pink blush to balance facial dimensionality, maintaining a vibrant look before the lens even in gentle sea breezes.

Speaking of outfit styling, this red and white striped swimsuit actually tests body proportions, as the halter neck design visually elongates neck lines. To prevent sunburn on the beach or discomfort from sand, I layered a translucent white mesh sun-protection shirt outside. This translucent material produces very soft rim light under backlighting, making the overall visual impression lightweight and dreamy. For the bracelet, I picked a blue-green handmade beaded string—this small detail was a finishing touch that broke up the monotony of the red-and-white primary color palette.

A lot of unexpected situations actually occurred midway through shooting. Sea breezes were strong, blowing the wig out of place; sometimes to keep bangs from covering my eyes, I had to hold my hair down constantly. The sitting photo took several attempts to harmonize posture with light and shadow. Resting on a woven-texture moisture-proof mat underneath, sitting for long periods actually left marks on my legs, but enduring it to strike a natural, relaxed pose for good composition was completely worth it. Facing the lens, crossing my hands over my chest created character tension while naturally shading facial shadows caused by direct sunlight.

Though outfit props and makeup referenced the original Fate/Grand Order work, under real outdoor lighting, achieving ultimate accuracy required controlling color tones within a proper range during post-processing—vibrant without being tacky. This photo set didn't intentionally pursue fancy, complex visual effect backgrounds; it simply used natural environmental light and clean outfit elements to restore and interpret the character's seaside vacation vibe. The character's gaze is somewhat special—gentle yet carrying a resolute focus—and I tried my best to reconcile these subtle emotional layers when facing the camera.

Working together with the team, everyone shared great tacit synergy. Although just simple sitting poses on the beach, fabric folds, wind-blown hair directions, and hand placement angles required repeated adjustments for every detail. The photographer noted my candid outdoor state was great; since the wind blew continuously, my hair had dynamic movement, making this natural flow far more vivid than rigid studio shots. During shooting breaks, I touched up lipstick several times to ensure my lip color stayed glossy under the sunset rays. I love this color tone imbued with soft warmth; contrast doesn't need to be cranked too high, as subtle vignetting naturally draws focus to facial features and outfit details.
