This time I chose this red hair and blue-and-white dress styling for shooting, with the core intent to highlight the freshness of flowers and vines. The outfit is an irregular patchwork of light blue and pure white, with a huge blue-purple 3D fabric flower at the waist, adorned with deep blue ribbons, visually elongating the figure. There are many headpiece details: golden leaves paired with pearl chains, with fine pearl tassels on the forehead, plus long bright red hair, making for quite a distinct color contrast. This Red hair cosplay look really stands out.
Regarding props, I specially picked a rattan basket, paired with pink-purple artificial flowers and green branches and leaves. In the backlit snapshot (the fourth image), grapes were placed in the basket, which, combined with the texture of the sunlight falling, gives the frame a daily life vibe. The white independent sleeves on the arms and the light-colored leg warmers on the legs are both printed with the same vine wave textures, keeping the design consistent throughout the outfit. It's a great example of Casual cosplay.
We prepared several different locations for shooting. The first image is sitting on the floor holding the flower basket, using the soft light from the window to highlight the facial state; the second image is sitting in an area covered with turf and plenty of flowers, leaning forward as much as possible, trying to bring a bit of playfulness; the third image is holding a bouquet by the indoor window, turning sideways to give the frame more layering; the fourth one is my personal favorite, specially choosing a backlit angle, slightly lifting one leg while holding the basket—although it requires careful control of expressions due to the strong light on the face, the glowing effect makes the overall look very lightweight.
For this Flower fairy makeup and styling, I focused on the translucency of the base makeup, choosing light beige eyeshadow and natural apricot blush to appear as gentle as possible. The design of the clothes doesn't have particularly high requirements for the figure, but the leg warmers need to fit the ankles tightly to avoid tripping when walking. The shooting process took about an hour or two, during which I needed to constantly adjust the holding angle of the flower basket to avoid blocking the flower details on the clothes.
Overall, this shoot went smoother than expected. The blue-purple tone of the clothing and the red wig paired harmoniously under natural light. The photographer's backlit snapshot was spot on, giving this casual garden setting a bit of atmosphere. This is also my first attempt at this kind of prop pairing with a fruit basket, which feels quite interesting. This outdoor shoot is a perfect example of fine Outdoor photography.
