At the Hefei Dimension Gate convention, I brought this Honkai Impact 3rd Thelema cosplay look to the venue to fully immerse myself in the intense ACG atmosphere. Silver-white long hair paired with purple contact lenses; the eye makeup specially highlighted pupil enlargement and an upward eyeliner wing. Combined with pale skin foundation, it truly stood out under the convention hall lighting. The black wing modules on the headpiece feature pinkish-purple stripes, creating a color resonance with the teardrop-shaped gem pendant at the neckline, preventing the red-and-black theme from feeling gloomy and adding a rich layer of detail.
The wig was thinned out in layers and styled in advance so the bangs and sideburns perfectly framed my face. The black crisscross neck straps are one of the core highlights of this outfit, sculpting the neck lines. Paired with a bright red cinched jacket and gold cord knots, the overall styling received great feedback at the venue. Many photographers wanted close-ups from this angle because the red-black-gold color contrast is extremely high, letting the character pop out from the background even under the complex industrial ceiling lighting.
For the shoot, I carried a solid, heavy weapon prop. Holding it required specific gestures to hit the right angles, but paired with gloves, it gave these Convention photos a distinct, stylized flair. High foot traffic at the convention meant spending considerable time queuing for spots and finding clean backgrounds, but friendly photographers helped hold positions and dodge crowds. We picked spots without obtrusive ad banners, focusing attention on facial expressions, fingerless glove details, and the texture of the pink gemstone at the collar.
The tailoring on the shoulders and waist of this costume is structured and crisp. The outer fabric received special finishing that casts a subtle pink reflection from certain angles, perfectly matching the character's elegant yet sharp, assertive aura. Though the prop wasn't overly heavy, carrying it around the venue for hours was physically demanding, requiring constant checks on wig and bangs tidiness to ensure sweat or walking wouldn't collapse the styling.
This red-black-pink palette is undeniably photogenic at conventions, clearly communicating fabric textures and design details in both close-ups and medium shots. Large aperture blur softened the cluttered architecture and background passersby, focusing full attention onto the subject. The charm of offline events lies in feeling your beloved visual elements brought to life while connecting with fellow fans. Even without flashy camera movements, candid shots taken by venue pillars captured the character's intrinsic essence effortlessly.
Overall, this on-site experience at Hefei Dimension Gate went smoothly. Wig curvature, contact lens comfort, and jacket structure all stayed well within control. Despite exhaustion from the event, seeing those frozen moments on the camera screen made every bit of preparation worth it. This Casual cosplay shoot focused primarily on recreating character expressions and garment features—stepping away from lavish visual effects to express the character through authentic makeup, fabric textures, and demeanor, making it a deeply fulfilling endeavor.
