Putting on this outfit and playing with the long pipe in my hand, Ningguang's calm, confident, and overlooking aura was instantly found. For this client photo shoot, we put a lot of effort into character accuracy, striving to present a texture before the camera that best matches her status.

First, let's talk about the wig and makeup this time. Ningguang's long platinum-white hair is highly recognizable. To recreate that flowing yet heavy feel, we chose a high-fidelity hair material, paired with the exquisite golden hairpin on top and that highly characteristic red tassel. This not only visually brightens the entire look but also makes the overall structure of the head appear more three-dimensional. The red colored contacts paired with delicate eye makeup reveal the calm and scrutiny gained from navigating the business world, while the lip color selects a steady vintage red, which is both majestic and elegant without losing feminine softness.

The costume details are also a focus of this photoshoot. The outfit is primarily dominated by three colors: white, gold, and dark brown. The white plush collar around the shoulders and neck is exceptionally soft, which not only elevates the character's nobility but also neutralizes the chill brought by the sharp metal accessories. The long dark brown leather gloves on the arms, paired with metallic spiked guards and a white ruffled off-the-shoulder inner top, combine the crispness of a martial artist with the luxury of a ruler. I especially love the tactile feel of the gloves, which beautifully delivers that sense of overall control when handling props.

Speaking of the most interesting part of the shoot, it must be the interaction with these props. That long pipe is not only a signature item for the character but also a multiplier of her aura. During the shoot, the photographer guided me to hold it with different hand gestures—resting across the shoulder or lightly cradling it in my palm. Additionally, the Go chessboard, brass tea sets, and the calligraphy scrolls with powerful brush strokes hanging behind made us feel as if we were right in the heart of Liyue. Sitting on the carpet or leaning next to bamboo leaves, paired with the warm yellow light source of ancient-style lanterns, gave the entire frame not just exquisiteness, but also a touch of everyday life and narrative feel.

Of course, recreating Ningguang doesn't just lie in appearance and props, but more in managing her temperament. As the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, her characteristics of strategizing and being unfathomable, while simultaneously knowing how to enjoy life and appreciate art, need to be conveyed through eyes and micro-expressions. During the shooting process, I would intentionally slow down my movements to enter that quiet yet aura-filled mental state. The photographer's snapshots were very sharp; several sets of frames combining movement and stillness—such as the dancing hair strands or the staring while sitting upright—perfectly captured the character's spirit.

Personally, I really love this kind of Anime cosplay character with a deep traditional Chinese heritage, because they possess not only fantastical colors but also a foundation in cultural aesthetics. For this Ningguang cosplay look, whether from the choice of clothing fabrics, the matching of accessories, or the integration of the overall scenery, I hoped to achieve a truly immersive restoration. Although the day of the shoot was quite tiring, seeing the exported finished photos makes all the dedication worth it. I hope this set of photos allows you to feel my investment during styling and my respect for the character. This is not just taking photos, but a deep dialogue regarding the character's soul and visual creation through Chinese-style photography.
