For this ACG outdoor location shoot, I chose the Lily of the Valley Waltz outfit for Lynette, the magic assistant in Genshin Impact. The design details of the dress are highly sophisticated; it features a gradient from white to mint green, an exquisite bow ribbon on the chest, and a skirt composed of a light outer tulle layer and a puffy inner petticoat. To make the look more lively, fluffy white cat ears are adorned on top of the head, and the hair is styled into a light blonde low ponytail with a few streaks of cyan highlights. The makeup uses pinkish tones to enhance the complexion, paired with red colored contacts to make the eyes match the slightly lazy yet sharp feeling of the original design.

For footwear, I chose white casual sneakers and grayish-black sheer stockings. This was actually a personal trade-off because it happened to be an overcast day and the ground was damp from recent rain. Sneakers made it much easier to walk around, and when paired with this playful dress, it unexpectedly added a casual, everyday vibe to the visual style.

The shooting location was next to a quiet path in a park, surrounded by many green trees. Although the weather was gloomy without harsh sunlight, the diffuse reflection provided the softest light, perfectly bringing out the delicate tones of the gradient skirt. The camera angle needed to be lowered or kept at eye level to capture the layering of the skirt. To reflect Lynette's role as a magic assistant, I tried several different poses, such as making a heart shape with both hands as shown in the picture, or opening my arms to create a stage presence. I also tipped my toes slightly to visually elongate the lines and make myself look more ethereal.

Of course, this styling also presented some challenges during the outdoor shoot. Both the skirt hem and the sneakers are white, making them highly susceptible to mud stains when walking on the damp pavement tiles, so I had to check them after every single pose. Additionally, the lace details of the neck collar and the ribbons on the arms are quite intricate and required constant adjustments to avoid looking messy. Fortunately, the final photos successfully achieved the expected soft texture. I think the most appealing part of doing cosplay is using different outfits, makeup, and poses to give form to a character; even for the same character, a different costume can uncover an entirely different temperament.
