Organizing the photo return for this set of Prinz Eugen cosplay from the Azur Lane booth at the 2026 Firefly ACG Expo brought all the vibrant lighting and material textures vividly back to life.
This time, I portrayed Prinz Eugen in her patent leather bunny maid attire, where the visual core lies in the textural contrasts. The glossy black patent leather produced intense reflections under the booth's high-lumen spotlights; to keep highlights from blowing out, the lighting on site was deliberately diffused and softened. White lace ruffles along the neckline, cuffs, and skirt hem formed a classic black-and-white color contrast with the black patent leather, giving the upper body silhouette striking three-dimensional depth. The criss-crossed white ribbons and black bow tie at the chest served as central visual anchors, while the tailored fit supported the character's crisp, commanding, yet delightfully playful charisma.
For hair and makeup, the wig featured silver-white twin tails topped with a glossy black bunny ear headband accented by red ribbons, keeping the head styling visually dynamic. The opaque black pantyhose on the legs paired with glossy black pointed high heels were another major visual highlight in this Black stockings cosplay look; the contrast between the matte hosiery and the lustrous patent leather heels beautifully elongated body proportions in both crossed-leg and extended seated poses. The makeup was tailored specifically for the shoot, utilizing purplish-pink eyeshadow to harmonize with the silver hair and accessories while enriching the lip color to closely capture the character's commanding aura.
The shooting location at the Azur Lane booth offered a theatrical stage-like atmosphere. Deep red velvet curtains paired with warm yellow illuminated marquee bulb signs, along with a rounded yellow mascot plush in the foreground, formed a richly layered composition. I sat inside a transparent acrylic bubble chair to shoot—a prop that proved quite challenging since the clear surface required careful posture control to showcase character charm while preventing unwanted reflections or wardrobe slips. Fortunately, the photographer was exceptionally skilled, capturing brilliant moments as the acrylic sphere refracted the light.
To showcase different facets of her personality, we explored diverse compositions: high leg lifts or crossed legs accentuated the sleek lines of the hosiery and heels, holding the twin tails with both hands injected playful energy, while leaning back slightly against the transparent chair back conveyed a relaxed, effortless composure. Although the convention was crowded and bustling, the stage space created by the booth provided total immersion. This shoot was not merely about character recreation, but about bringing that unique theatrical stage presence to life in a dedicated booth setting. Huge thanks to the photographer for their patient framing and the support team for their help, wrapping up our 2026 New Year convention shoot on a perfect note.
