For this Azur Lane August 14 Cool Breeze Festival shoot, I tackled Prinz Eugen's glossy vinyl bunny girl styling head-on. The costume's high-shine patent vinyl material delivers an incredible sheen under stage spotlights, but the tradeoff is virtually zero breathability; throughout the session, I constantly had to touch up makeup and smooth out fabric wrinkles so glare points stayed sleek and pristine.
To match the August 14 Cool Breeze Festival motif, we dedicated extensive thought to set design. The background featured retro red show curtains paired with metallic geometric marquee signs, accented by a disco ball and vintage leather trunk suitcases to evoke a nostalgic mid-century cabaret stage ambiance. The golden vintage microphone in hand served as the centerpiece prop; paired with a standing mic stand, it offered organic anchors for hand placement and prevented the framing from feeling empty.
Prinz Eugen's personality radiates a blend of languid poise, supreme confidence, and a touch of perilous allure, meaning I couldn't stand too rigidly before the lens. I explored two primary postures: first, casually leaning against the mic stand with my center of gravity shifting slightly forward and gaze carrying an aloof nonchalance; second, resting one hand firmly on my hip while locking eyes with the camera. This latter pose accentuated the tailored contours of the bodysuit, which, complemented by over-the-knee black stockings and strappy heels, visually elongated the legs into a commanding, magnetic silhouette.
The black bunny ears overhead and white lace ruffle accents along the bust softened the stark, rigid edge of the patent leather. Wig styling took hours to refine: silver-grey cascading curls finished with the signature red streak across the bangs were essential to capturing her instantly recognizable hallmark. With metallic, heavily blended eye makeup, tilting my head under the studio beams was necessary to draw out the vivid, translucent depth of the red iris contacts. Working with the photographer felt completely synchronized; in terms of lighting, dual key lights formed sculpted rim lighting that made the tactile clash of black stockings and vinyl pop with kinetic energy. The finished set carries palpable stage drama, and I hope everyone feels the unique pulse of this Cool Breeze Festival.
