[Perona Cosplay] One Piece Group Photo Records at World Line Anime Convention

I finally did my long-awaited Perona cosplay at this Chengdu World Line Anime Convention. Although the weather wasn't on our side and it started to rain, preventing me from staying outside a bit longer, I was super happy to meet so many fellow One Piece fans. What I wanted to challenge the most for this Perona cosplay was that anti-gravity wig and the red umbrella. From priming to styling, I tried over and over again several times just to make the pink twin-tails and the spiral structure on top of the head stand up. Although the process was agonizing, the sense of accomplishment was fully maximized the moment I put it on my head.

The umbrella surface used hard materials for the frame, and the red tassels on the edge were also sewn on stitch by stitch by myself, trying my best to recreate that exaggerated styling from the anime. The last solo photo in the set showcases this look relatively completely. Finishing this set immediately made me even more interested in classic anime cosplay. Luffy, Law, Zoro, and Kid, whom I met on the day of the convention, all shared a wonderful unspoken understanding, making it feel like we assembled a pirate crew right on the spot. Especially the ones posing with me in the photos, their accuracy was very high, and there was a kind of happiness that broke the fourth wall when passersby gathered around to take pictures.

Although making handmade props and wigs myself is time-consuming, the joy is truly doubled when taking photos with fellow fans while holding my own completed work. Due to the rain, we wrapped up hastily this time; if the weather is good next time, I must wear this Perona outfit again to take more atmospheric shots outdoors. Besides, doing DIY stuff is really addictive, and I'm already pondering how to make the costume for the next classic anime character.
