[Keqing cosplay] Opulent Splendor, Convention photos before nightfall

Directly changed into this Keqing Opulent Splendor outfit on the day of the convention. Hearing from the weather forecast that it might rain, I decided to finish shooting this set of convention photos before nightfall. The overall design of this outfit really hits me, featuring black and bright blue as the main color scheme, with the upper body being a black tight-fitting design, paired with lace and hollow-out elements, while the lower body is a bright blue asymmetric skirt hem, covered with a layer of semi-transparent printed light gauze on the outside, creating a full sense of lightness when walking. To restore the character, I wore a purple-to-blue gradient long curly wig, and spending quite a bit of time adjusting the cat ears and pearl chain hair accessories on top of the head; the wig itself is prone to frizz and required repeated combing and styling with hair wax and hairspray to ensure a three-dimensional and natural look from all angles in front of the lens. In terms of makeup, eye makeup was heavily emphasized, matching the character's detached coolness, without using overly rich blusher, while a reddish lipstick shade was chosen to brighten the overall facial color.

The preparation of props also took a lot of thought. The blue long sword with golden textures in my hand is the focus, featuring lightning-like glowing textures on the blade. To capture the light effect even during the day, I embedded light strips inside the blade; shooting requires holding down the switch all the time, and since the sword itself has a certain weight, holding it up with one hand while maintaining posture is a small test of physical strength. Additionally, the white flower pendant, with its feather texture paired with a thin stem, has a very agile feel in the evening breeze. I also treated the leg details: the black semi-transparent stockings are printed with light totem patterns, and this print style increases detail richness while showcasing leg lines, paired with black high-heeled strappy shoes, whose heel height just elongates the visual proportions, displaying better lines when sitting or standing on one leg.

The shooting location was chosen next to a street with black stone walls and green plants, where the gray floor tiles of the sidewalk and the trees in the background formed a quiet environment. To fit the theme of before nightfall, we didn't use strong outdoor lights, but instead utilized the soft natural light of the evening as much as possible. Although this kind of light is relatively dim, it can well preserve the original colors of the clothes and the gloss of the hair. The photographer intentionally lowered the camera position, utilizing the lines of the floor tiles to guide the visual center of gravity. Regarding shooting actions, I designed several different postures. When sitting, extending the legs forward maximizes the display of the skirt hem's extension and the details of the legs wearing stockings. Raising one leg to stand and semi-squatting postures are meant to form a triangular composition with the body, showcasing a tension of being ready for battle at any time. The actions of walking and looking back at the lens are more for displaying the ethereal state of the wig and cape gauze drapery under motion.

While walking around the convention site in the whole styling, stepping on the skirt hem happened often due to its excessive length, so extra attention had to be paid to footsteps during shooting. Because the hair is very long, it easily tangled with the blue sleeves and lace straps on the arms when turning around, requiring slow adjustments to maintain action smoothness. Being able to wear clothes you like, bringing the character from the screen into reality, and restoring her through body language and expressions is inherently a very fulfilling thing. The Lantern Rite-themed costume this time matches the evening atmosphere very well in color matching, and seeing the final photos made me feel that the afternoon's busyness was totally worth it. This set of convention photos records many moments of that evening; whether it's light and shadow or costume details, I tried my best to achieve a satisfying state.
