[Lynae Cosplay] A Refreshing Record of Summer Cosplay Convention Photos

This summer-style outfit is one of the looks I brought for cosplay convention photos at this convention. The overall design concept revolves around freshness, coolness, and vitality, combining ocean elements with everyday casual wear. The upper body features a white and aqua-blue gradient short-sleeved T-shirt, with a knotted design that beautifully highlights the waistline and body proportions. Paired with frayed light-colored denim shorts, it easily accommodates long walks around the convention floor while projecting a casual vibe in front of the lens.

Regarding the choice of accessories, I intentionally incorporated numerous details related to the ocean theme. The starfish and seashell decorations adorning the neck and the garment's hem echo the overall color palette beautifully. For the wig, the long blonde-and-cyan gradient ponytail serves as the visual focus. The little yellow duck and flower decorations tucked into the hair add a playful touch to the styling, while the pink tulle garland on the wrist balances the overall cool tone of blue and white, adding a sense of softness.

Managing the wig actually takes much more time than it looks. Especially with this kind of extreme-length hair that has undergone highlights and a two-tone gradient process, it needs to be combed smooth carefully before heading out, and I had to ensure that the iconic ahoge (cowlick) could stand up straight. To maintain a natural feel, I used a small amount of styling products, which avoids looking stiff while lasting through several hours of exploring the exhibition. For footwear, I chose white thick-soled chunky-heeled sandals, a style that not only elongates the leg lines but also perfectly matches the overall refreshing tone. To make the entire look more complete, I even painted my nail polish in a matching cyan-blue, which counts as a small but bonus hidden detail.

When shooting this set of photos, the photographer Wakaba chose an area in the venue with highly translucent lighting, utilizing a wide aperture to blur out the background equipment and crowds, keeping the main subject sufficiently sharp. The soft reflections on the floor and the diffuse overhead light source together created a clean and bright Japanese photobook texture. The convention venue that day was bustling with people coming and going, so finding a relatively quiet corner for shooting was no easy task. We specifically avoided peak crowd times and utilized some high platforms, stools, and chairs inside the venue as simple props. The reflections from the floor actually provided excellent material for post-processing color grading, making the frames look more spacious and clear.

The posing design across the entire photo set aims to present different facets. The hand gesture in the first image adds a touch of fun, looking like a greeting to the lens; the balanced moment of standing on one leg in the second image showcases a light and energetic posture; the third image features me sitting on a bar stool, where the pose is more relaxed and natural, better displaying the leg lines; the fourth image presents a full shot after standing still, allowing the overall matching effect of the full outfit to be clearly seen.

Shooting cosplay convention photos in an environment like an ACG expo always brings various unexpected situations, such as shifting lights or location constraints. However, the overall delivery efficiency this time was very high, and I am incredibly happy to have successfully completed the shoot for this look. The overall outfit, makeup, and hair styling were not only meant to stay close to the character design from Wuthering Waves but also strived to manifest an anime-style fashion lifestyle with a personal touch within this specific convention environment.
