The moment I received this Tamamo-no-Mae: Jet Black Magician costume, I decided to make the classic red, black, and gold palette the core of the visual aesthetic. As an outfit rich in prominent gothic and opulent elements, it is packed with intricate details, so significant thought went into the pre-shoot preparations.

Let's first talk about hair and makeup. The pink wig required careful trimming and styling to ensure the bangs and side locks had clean layering without looking frizzy. For contacts, I chose a yellow-brown pair, which, complemented by reddish eye makeup and crimson lips, found a harmonious balance between cool detachment and alluring charm. Affixing the plush ear and tail accessories took considerable effort; to guarantee the tail maintained natural drape and fluffiness while executing varied poses across the leather sofa, invisible craft wire and hair clips were embedded inside for dual reinforcement.

The garment's design is exceptionally distinctive: the black-and-gold straps, metallic O-rings, and cutout tailoring serve as the soul of this attire. When suiting up, I repeatedly adjusted the position of the golden straps to ensure they followed the body's natural contours. The gray ruffles along the sleeves are quite voluminous and tend to absorb light in photoshoots, so during posing, I intentionally flared or lifted the sleeves to let the ruffles' texture and highlights shine. The lower half was styled with over-the-knee Black stockings and patent leather high heels with ring straps—a pairing that not only elongates the leg lines, but also fits the character's aura flawlessly.

For the set design, to echo the dark and mysterious essence of the outfit, we complemented the red velvet drapes with an ornate gold cutout screen, scattered red roses, and a vintage brown leather sofa. A golden birdcage was positioned on the left side of the frame, enriching the storytelling mood. The floor was covered with a patterned carpet and sprinkled with rose petals to deepen visual depth.

The camera utilized was a Fujifilm X-S10 paired with a 27mm f/1.2 lens. The large aperture provided a clear advantage: under mixed red and blue ambient lighting, the shallow depth of field softened the background roses and drapes, allowing the subject to stand out crisply against a complex setting. The blend of red and blue light striking the black velvet fabric formed gorgeous rim lighting along the silhouette. Because it was a prime lens, capturing full-body or seated compositions required constantly shifting camera positions, but the image quality and rich color Straight out of camera (SOOC) saved considerable post-processing work.

In terms of posing, executing sitting, reclining, and kneeling poses on the sofa in high heels demanded a fair amount of core stability. My favorite shot is in Photo 6, resting my leg atop the vase; this pose directly showcases the leg lines, yet keeping the back straight and letting the tops of the Black stockings and the shoes' metallic buckles emerge naturally was crucial to avoid looking stiff on camera. In the seated shot reaching toward the lens, I angled my hand and face slightly to leverage the three-dimensional depth of the wide aperture, enhancing interactivity. Throughout the shoot, we continually modulated poses and lighting angles, striving to highlight sensual allure while upholding the character's commanding presence. These are the detailed reflections behind this session.
