[Sunna cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Studio Shoot, The Clash of Mint Green and Pink-and-White Stripes

Starting this Sunna-styled studio look for an esports room photography session was a long-planned project. I spent a long time picking out the mint green wig. To make the hair strands look smooth while maintaining that unique anime-style fluffy volume, I did quite a lot of maintenance and teasing beforehand. Although the green ring hair accessories and black pixel-patterned clips on the wig are tiny, their positions had to be repeatedly adjusted to ensure there would be no styling slips from any camera angle. For makeup, I chose a bright and translucent base this time, paired with light-colored colored contact lenses and bold eyeshadow accents, making my gaze look much more spirited in front of the lens.

The clothing coordination is the soul of the entire look. The top's white short-sleeved shirt features a subtle puff-sleeve design, with a highly eye-catching red tie at the collar adorned with polka dots and a blue bow. The bottom is a black pleated skirt with a double-layered ruffled design; this kind of pleated design allows the skirt hem to spread out very gracefully and dimensionally when sitting or kneeling. Impossible to ignore are the pink-and-white striped sleeves and matching over-knee long socks. The contrast of these high-saturation pink and white striped socks is remarkably sharp. Paired with the black leather thigh straps and light blue bows used for fastening, it conveys an athletic feel while retaining a young girl's charm. The pink and white color-blocked platform shoes on the feet not only anchor the styling with weight but also effectively elongate my body proportions.

I put quite a lot of thought into the choice of props this time. The white toy gun with a pink flared muzzle in my hand is a crucial interactive prop for this look. Holding it in hand while coordinating with different poses allows for a playful vibe or a slight combat stance. Besides that, the red gaming console also fits the scene exceptionally well; sitting in the esports chair with my head lowered, completely focused on gaming, beautifully reinforces the 'gamer girl' attribute. The pink vintage rotary dial telephone on the floor is an absolute bonus; its bottom white angel wing decorations and the '3/4' sticker pasted on its body lines instantly elevate the narrative feel of the frame.

The shooting scene was a very cozily decorated white esports room. Dual-screen monitors, a pink and white keyboard and mouse, along with those otaku-attributed merchandise ornaments on the height-adjustable desk completely maximized the atmosphere of the environment. The glass display cabinet behind me, illuminated by warm white lights, displayed various exquisite anime figures, serving perfectly as a background to enrich the layers of the photos. The geometric white light tubes overhead and the cyan-blue ambient lights glowing from under the desk cast a dreamy halo over the entire room, matching perfectly with the dominant pink and white color scheme and keeping the photo colors exceptionally clean.

In terms of action design, the photographer and I had excellent chemistry. I experimented with various relaxed postures while sitting in the pink esports chair, such as leaning against the backrest with the gaming console or propping my legs onto the microphone prop in front. To highlight the leg lines and the striped socks element, we shot several compositions with the legs as the visual focus. These frames didn't look jarring at all and excellently showcased the details of my prioritized coordination this time. Additionally, I tried kneeling and sitting cross-legged on the pink plush rug. Switching between high-angle overhead shots and low-angle upward shots kept the final photos from looking monotonous.

I noted 'apologies for OOC' in the post. Granted, everyone's understanding and expressiveness regarding a character differ, and it's extremely difficult to replicate a character 100%. However, I've always felt that the joy of cosplay lies in interpreting characters you love in your own way. This look combines several elements I personally love, such as the pink-and-white stripes, mint green, and the esports setting. Integrating them into the character's design is also a way to pay tribute to the original work. The shooting process went very smoothly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the post-processing tried its best to preserve the original texture of the raw photos. Rather than being stressed by over-pursuing accuracy, it's better to enjoy the process of bringing a character into reality.

This studio shoot involved careful deliberation for everything from clothing and accessories to the selection of props, and I'm quite satisfied with the overall presented results. Collaborating with the photographer once again proved the importance of a great partner. I hope this carefully prepared cosplay share allows friends who see it to also experience the character's unique charm.
