[Aemeath Cosplay] Applying for Guangzhou CICF Free Pass with Companions from Wuthering Waves and Zenless Zone Zero

Shooting this set happened to coincide with the recruitment period for the Guangzhou CICF Free Pass. Reflecting on the process of preparing these costumes and props, as well as the care spent with photographers searching for shooting angles, I genuinely wanted to apply for this event and share some solid finished photos with friends who share a love for anime conventions and photography. This time, three relevant characters are featured across seven photos, covering various environments from pure white studio setups to natural scenery and night shoots, where equipment relays even cycled through several different focal lengths. Across these seven photos, though makeup and wig fitting were done somewhat hurriedly, the final lighting, texture, and onsite atmosphere achieved my set expectations. Therefore, I carefully selected these representative photos for my application materials, hoping to comprehensively showcase my usual cosplay state.

The blue-haired costume utilized many metallic-textured foil materials, particularly the neck collar and thigh armor. The blue crescent symbols against white lining created a stark contrast with the pink foundation hair color. Adding a top light against a solid backdrop from a high angle nicely outlined the extending backlines. As for the shot taken on outdoor streets, hair strands split natural light directly, casting a highly translucent gradient quality across the wig while capturing run-reflected details precisely. The skirt and waist corset featured combined wind-element and wave-element patterns; wearing this character-accurate outfit made walking around feel deeply immersive.

Among outdoor setups, I particularly favored the shot taken on indoor stairs. The stair handrails and carpet patterns carried a European retro style that paired with my black, white, and blue halter-neck gown in a surprisingly harmonious way. A thorn-styled blue halo rested on my head, while blue gloves and ankle accessories echoed each other; sitting barefoot on the steps and lifting a leg tested my balance, but I maintained it over multiple rounds to convey a casual yet commanding presence. Another photo captured in a convention night atmosphere utilized small flashlights under nighttime ambient light to illuminate the frame center, fixing a playful vitality through hands placed beside cheeks with pink twin tails.

There was also a dynamic airborne photo wearing a short, fitted blue-and-white panel jacket paired with side crisscross laces and brown Martin boots, captured in motion by the shutter. This was shot during off-peak pedestrian times at the venue, ensuring safety while reserving sufficient space to demonstrate jumping poses. Of course, the setup testing onsite execution most was the look with mechanical giant armor: black armor and spiked headwear combined with fluffy animal ears, alongside an extremely exaggerated wide-angle perspective. Positioned close to the lens, the massive glove served as a foreground to create pressure and visual tension. Shooting these angles required extreme synchronization with the photographer, as minor posture shifts could obstruct facial expressions or disrupt focus.

Regarding makeup and hair prep, styling wigs every time requires significant effort, especially since these wigs had high volume that needed hairpins and braiding to stay intact in outdoor winds. Eye makeup was matched to warm or cool costume tones: blue contact lenses or sharper eyeshadows were chosen for blue or black themes, while clean, smooth base makeup was maintained for white or warm themes. This shooting plan also involved shots requiring pre-judging camera movements with the photographer, like capturing side-backlight along street railings, requiring walking the venue beforehand to locate light angles that produce highlighted, flying hair effects. Normally when I cosplay, beyond understanding core character design concepts, I review similar convention return photos to absorb lighting and posture experience. Looking back at these seven photos, each emphasizes distinct styling and expression—from cool elegance to liveliness to powerful presence—and this multifaceted state is precisely why I love cosplay. Guangzhou CICF, as a grand annual convention, fills its halls with excitement every October, and I look forward to participating in high-density player interactions through a Cosplay & Photography Free Pass. This application isn't just for personal records, but to share current visuals with fellow fans and exchange ideas with photographers, makeup artists, and enthusiasts at the convention.
