[Mordred cosplay] Dominating Aura in Red Battle Suit: Anime Convention Shoot Log

Red patent leather, black stockings, high-heeled ankle boots, and the gleaming greatsword in hand set the tone for this entire shoot.
Patent leather is actually quite tricky to manage at an Anime convention—it wrinkles easily and creates harsh reflections. The photographer and I spent a long time fine-tuning the lights just to tame the glare.
The wig is a golden high ponytail with bangs; smoothing out the strands and locking the styling alone took over half an hour.
I chose greenish contact lenses, focusing the eye makeup on elongated wings and deepened contours, which, paired with bold red lip color, gave me a sharper, cooler look.
It was my first time wearing this red choker with clear straps alongside thigh garters; while a bit uncomfortable, I endured it to recreate that bold, striking visual presence.
The prop sword was genuinely heavy—holding it for extended periods made my hands tremble, especially for sharp, static action poses that required solid body balance and core strength.
At the Anime convention venue, we scouted a dim, secluded corner and used a folding chair to set up poses.
The straddling pose on the chair with legs spread felt a bit intimidating at first, but to get the right shot, I pushed through. It turned out that combining that posture with a piercing gaze and the sword's placement conveyed an incredible sense of dominance and tension.
The combination of red high heels and black stockings created a powerful visual impact.
The post-processed lightning effects were the finishing touch, adding dynamic tension to the frame.
The gaze and posture captured by the lens conveyed absolute confidence.
Throughout the shoot, I constantly had to regulate my breathing to keep my muscles engaged and present the cleanest silhouette on camera.
Looking back at the final shots, although completely exhausted, the synergy between my demeanor and the outfit was spot-on.
This shoot gave me a deeper understanding of how to command such an opulent yet aggressive style, requiring continuous refinement of eye contact and gestures.
The heavy foot traffic at the Anime convention was a huge challenge; we moved between quiet corners, taking quite some time. While touching up makeup, positive feedback from onlookers gave me a great boost of confidence.
The downside of patent leather is that it easily picks up fingerprints, so I had to be careful during poses. Drawing the greatsword from behind required precise coordination between the blade's gleam and my body angle. To simulate combat dynamism, I had to hold poses for several seconds with muscles fully flexed.
The choice of black stockings was deliberate—not only accentuating leg lines, but also creating a stark contrast against the red skirt and boots. To maximize the elongated leg effect, I repeatedly adjusted the chair height and extension angles. Makeup and hair were kept crisp, requiring three touch-ups. By the end, my legs were numb from holding the straddle pose on my knees, and I even stumbled when standing up. The suit accumulated quite a few scuffs, but they feel like battle badges of honor.
Despite all the hardships and unexpected snags during prep and shooting, seeing these final photos makes me so glad I took on this vivid portrayal to present this 2D Fate character to everyone.
