This set of Touhou Project Cirno cosplay convention photos focuses on recreating the character's ice crystal traits and sense of confidence. The costume features the classic combination of aqua blue and white. To express a sense of lightness in the skirt's pleats, stiff tulle support was added to the inner layer. The red bow on the chest is the crowning touch, forming a sharp contrast with the overall cool tones. The headpiece and wig were also adjusted specifically. This includes the ice crystal wings on both sides, which were handmade using transparent acrylic sheets with some angular and textured treatments at the base to simulate the light refraction of ice blocks. Although as Gensokyo's "⑨" she is often considered a "baka" (fool), from a cosplayer's perspective, a lot of work needs to be done on the aura to manifest the character's pure innocence. Wearing the iconic large blue bow, the contour of the hairstyle was finalized after repeated communication with the wig stylist, striving to see a full curve from all angles. Coordination with the photographer is also crucial; at the moment the shutter clicks, one needs to display the character's sassy and cute nature while maintaining the composure expected of an ice crystal sprite. The shooting environment was relatively complex on-site, with a lot of studio equipment in the background. In post-processing, the focus was on correcting the ambient light, unifying the overall cool tone, and adding snowflake and ice crystal effects to the frame, making the entire space look like living around the chilly Misty Lake. During retouching, I avoided over-smoothing the skin, retaining some skin texture to match the cool fair skin effect, highlighting the character's unique and non-human traits. The lighting and spatial flow on the day of the convention increased the difficulty of the shoot, requiring quick adaptation to various positionings and snapshot moments. When practicing cosplay photography for characters with highly saturated blue color schemes, the biggest challenge is controlling the reflection of ambient colors. As an archive of anime convention photos, this set of pictures records my state that day and serves as a reference for future improvements to makeup and styling. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this Cirno attempt, and I hope you can feel the unique Gensokyo atmosphere of the Touhou Project from this set of convention photos.
