This shoot specially chose an outdoor location with lush green trees, and the actual results were indeed as wonderful as expected. In particular, using a 250mm focal length paired with a large f/4 aperture created an ultimate sense of spatial compression that made the background leaves clearly layered. The character seemed to completely blend into this mottled light and shadow, which is precisely the unique visual style presented in Figure 2 and Figure 3 mentioned in the description.

In terms of the costume, this coat with a pearlescent texture displays excellent color transitions under natural light. It is not pure white, but carries a subtle tint of light grey and silver-purple sheen. The details on the coat, such as the black and green piping lines, along with the grass-green cloth strap and the small brown leather pouch slung across the waist, create an overall feel of jungle techwear. The dark inner dress and the ID badge pendant not only offer a contrast in texture but also add a touch of realism to this look.

To better present the character's expressions and demeanor, I put a lot of effort into the makeup and styling. The light blonde hair color and its layered cut, paired with the pink colored contacts and the long, pointed elf ears specially hand-sculpted, enhanced the character's recognizability. The green leaf headpiece and golden sharp horns on top of the head were actually crafted through wire shaping and manual gluing, striving to take care of every single detail so that a natural yet exquisite frame could be presented before the lens through this elf ear makeup and styling.

For the specific pose designs, we made some interesting attempts. In Figure 1, the posture of standing on one leg while holding the staff with both hands heavily tested body core control; we repeatedly adjusted the angle several times to find a position that was both stable and full of tension. Meanwhile, the hand gestures in Figure 2 and Figure 3—one forming a triangle with both hands, and the other a pensive look resting the chin on one hand—showcase the character's multiple attributes as both a scholar and a warrior. The black thick-soled combat boots on my feet form a visual extension with the dark long skirt, making the overall proportions look taller and more slender.

As for the props, the matte metal head and wooden staff frame served as excellent visual anchors in the frame. The timing of this shoot was also just perfect, with sunlight casting mottled bright shadows right through the leaves. Without using large fill lights, we relied solely on the outdoor natural diffuse reflection light to obtain photos with highly realistic and soft colors.

Overall, this attempt at Cosplay photography using a telephoto lens for an outdoor portrait has brought me a lot of shooting inspiration. The soft transitions and beautiful out-of-focus bokeh circles brought by the telephoto lens are truly a perfect match for this natural and fresh elf-themed look from Arknights.
