[Kasugano Sora Cosplay] Late Summer & Early Autumn: Japanese Casual Style Indoor and Outdoor Records

This time, I brought Sora's everyday feel into this JK outfit. The different atmospheres of the two scenes both serve to restore that quiet underlying tone of the character. Having seen many outdoor versions before, I wondered if it were possible to capture a feeling closer to that \"subtle softness in daily life.\"

The first photo was taken in an indoor setting with a strong Japanese aesthetic. Wooden-framed windows, a traditional tatami floor, plus a vintage green electric fan. Lying on the floor, stretching out my hand to touch the fan guard, it truly felt like being back in a dorm room on a summer afternoon. Lying down inevitably made the wig a bit messy, but the makeup artist attentively adjusted the hair strands so the twin pigtails maintained a natural drape even while lying flat. Wearing a JK uniform feels very comfortable, especially the relaxed collar of the shirt and the crisp pleats of the skirt. I also took the texture of the stockings into account; under warm indoor lighting, semi-sheer black tights cast a thin layer of soft glow, adding a touch of gentleness.

The second shot is outdoors, and I really love that set of wooden benches. The wood grain carries a beautifully weathered sense of time, pairing seamlessly with white vases by the wall and wild creeping vines, completely free of artificial staging marks. Sitting casually on the bench edge with legs naturally crossed, the black loafers anchored nicely with dark elements in the scene. Taken in the afternoon, light filtered through tree leaves, creating a soft, low-contrast texture through the lens. Settling onto the bench, one unconsciously relaxes alongside the wood texture.

\"We still don't know how many photos were taken that day\"—this saying isn't an exaggeration at all. There were many \"unexpected\" joys during the shoot. Like reflections on the fan guard or specks of soil on the bench, but it's precisely these unpolished micro-details that give the whole set a breathing quality. Since the wig color is light, makeup had to be exceptionally fresh to avoid looking muddy; thus, eye makeup featured subtle contouring while focusing on natural lip color transitions.

For overall styling, I selected an off-white shirt with brown collar trimmings to enhance a scholarly touch, paired with a light-colored pleated skirt to look visually airy. The wig was a smooth beige-gold. I was initially worried twin pigtails might look overly juvenile, but paired with this JK style, it brought out a refreshed youthful charm without feeling out of place.

In terms of shooting style, the photographer placed great emphasis on capturing a sense of life. For the indoor set, we agreed not to force artificial poses, simply lying or leaning naturally, treating the camera as a quiet companion. The outdoor shot leaned toward cinematic composition, where my gaze didn't stare straight into the lens but drifted slightly away, as if lost in thought or simply daydreaming.

The fan was one of the soulful props in this set. Its vintage aesthetic and light mint green tone blended harmoniously into the Japanese wood space. Stretching my hand to touch its wire guard was an intentional capture of that cute, dazed state of \"feeling the breeze while touching the fan.\" For JK outfit details, I chose a slightly relaxed oversized top to smooth out shoulder lines naturally, complementing the slightly wider pleated skirt. When sitting sideways or lying on the bench, the skirt hem spread out naturally under gravity, forming wonderful shadow layers.

Regarding final edits, I really love the direction of the post-processing color grading—not a heavy filter, but preserving real textures like tatami weave marks, bench wood cracks, and flecks of white paint on the fan. These textures cleverly blend the character's personal traits into authentic real-world breathing room. Though two days of shooting were packed, seeing these wood grains, vines, and electric fans come together made all the waiting worthwhile. This retro yet casual style is precisely the natural state I aimed to present through this Atmospheric photography session for a JK photoshoot.
