[Awa Subaru Cosplay] GBC Energetic Girl Appears! Full Sailor Uniform Outfit Record

This time, I mainly wanted to recreate Awa Subaru's daily sailor uniform look from the anime. The focus of the entire outfit lies in the purple piping of the sailor uniform cosplay and that iconic ahoge. To replicate the character's hairstyle, I chose a long, straight black wig. The bangs were trimmed into straight-cut bangs, and the key emphasis was placed on that stubborn ahoge on top of the head, requiring a little hair wax and setting spray to make it stand up naturally. The green bow hair ribbons on both sides are the crowning touch, providing a strong color contrast against the black hair, instantly boosting character recognition.

I did a lot of homework regarding the costume. This dark navy sailor uniform top has a moderate fit, featuring a classic sailor collar design where the width and color of the purple stripes closely match the reference. The purple bow tie on the chest is detachable, allowing its length to be adjusted according to one's body type. The choker is an included accessory—black leather combined with a metal ring—which perfectly balances the overly innocent feel of the sailor uniform, adding a touch of playfulness and rebellion.

The lower half is paired with a green plaid pleated skirt, creating a color-blocking contrast with the purple. The skirt hem swings naturally during daily wear or walking, making it perfect for snapshots. A black leather belt at the waist nicely snugs the waistline and emphasizes it. As seen in the inner wear of Photo 3, there is also a black thigh ring with letters on it; these small details enrich the entire Anime-style fashion look.

For the shoe and sock combination, I chose classic brown vintage leather shoes and white loose socks, which is a standard pairing for many Japanese school uniforms. Especially the way the loose socks bunch up above the ankles works beautifully to flatter the calf lines. Later in Photo 3, I switched to black tights, but the vintage vibe of the white socks paired with brown leather shoes for the outdoor shoot (Photo 2) perfectly matched the setting of cobblestone paths and wooden benches.

We used two quite interesting props during the shoot. The thin wooden stick in Photo 1 was found randomly, and paired with a tongue-out expression, it creates a mischievous, playful sense of interaction. The transparent-cased mechanical keyboard in Photo 3 is actually my daily-use peripheral. Holding it in front of the indoor wood-grain wall perfectly aligned with my usual hobbies of playing games and messing with peripherals. The keyboard itself has pink translucent switches, and you can faintly see the red base plate through the casing, making it a highly effective prop for this cosplay.

For the makeup, a natural base was used, with the focus on the eyes, wearing purple contact lenses close to the character's eye color. A bit of blush was swept under the lower eyelids to add an innocent look, and a soft mauve shade was chosen for the lips. The overall makeup leans toward a "no-makeup" look, preventing it from appearing too heavy. Since my original facial structure might differ slightly from the character's, I adjusted the visual presentation of my facial features by emphasizing the eyeshadow and aegyo sal (under-eye bags).

This set of photos was shot in two different environmental styles: next to an indoor wood-grain wall and on an outdoor cobblestone path, each presenting a different slice-of-life atmosphere. As a casual-themed cosplayer photography sharing post, I am quite satisfied with how the character traits were captured overall. Whether it's the hair details or the outfit texture of the sailor uniform cosplay, everything strives to maintain a daily feel while highlighting the character's inherent temperament. Showcasing the character's daily side through such simple, real-life scenes actually makes it feel much more natural and warm.
