[Saber cosplay] Fate/stay night Vintage Atmosphere of Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan

Choosing to shoot in a vintage kitchen was mainly driven by the desire to recreate the warm, everyday atmosphere seen in Fate/stay night's Today's Menu for the Emiya Family. To express a relaxed vibe while waiting for a meal, we deliberately picked a space featuring a vintage refrigerator, an old-fashioned microwave, and frosted glass windows. During the shoot, we utilized backlighting to let cool cyan-blue shadows drape over the white blouse and black skirt, enhancing that quiet, serene mood. For hair and makeup, I highlighted the details of the grey-blue eyes and the braided blonde updo; the large black bow at the neckline served as the soul of the entire look. While this outfit appears simple on the surface, matching the character's demeanor required spending considerable time fine-tuning the wig styling and makeup color palette. The lighting in this aged kitchen truly tested the photographer's composition skills—balancing the retro nostalgia of the environment while making the subject stand out amidst a detailed interior. The second photo in particular, with the direct eye contact and subtle presence looking straight into the lens, was my personal favorite state. Post-processing avoided over-the-top edits, focusing on maintaining color consistency to deliver a crisp, slightly cool-toned retro photoshoot aesthetic. Every time I take on a set that leans into the source material's everyday life, I come away with new insights, and next time I'd love to actually cook real dishes during the shoot to enrich the interaction. The whole shooting experience felt wonderfully immersive.
