[Alice Margatroid cosplay] Touhou Project: The Puppeteer's Photo Recaps from Guangzhou Anime Convention

For this Alice Margatroid cosplay at Guangzhou Anime Convention, from costume preparation to on-site shooting, the overall level of completion left me thoroughly satisfied. First, regarding costume details: the white lace bonnet on my head was adorned with pink flowers and ribbons, paired with a golden bob wig that required careful styling to prevent frizz. The dress's primary hue was light blue, spliced with white ruffled lace and a vintage lace-up design at the chest. The large pink bow at the waist served as the finishing touch. Below, I paired it with white diamond-patterned Stockings and brown lace-up ankle boots, creating a wonderfully unique mixed texture. For makeup, I deliberately chose pink-toned eyeshadow and blue contact lenses to accentuate a delicate, doll-like aesthetic. The red-and-white gift box prop tied with a red ribbon was the core centerpiece of the entire look; to harmonize it with the outfit, I fine-tuned how the ribbon knots were tied.

This time, the photographer utilized an 85mm prime lens. In a convention setting with complex lighting and cluttered backgrounds, the shallow depth of field of an 85mm prime lens was showcased to perfection. Its wide aperture cleanly blurred the background booths and passersby, keeping all visual focus firmly on the character. A prime lens demands frequent communication between photographer and model regarding positioning. To capture varied nuances, I tried both seated and standing poses. The convention floor was reflective wood parquet; sitting on the ground with the skirt flared out, paired with the creamy bokeh of the 85mm prime lens, produced fantastic lighting textures. When standing, hand gestures needed to remain relaxed—such as lightly lifting a hand to brush the bonnet brim, or holding the gift box. Because the outfit had extensive lace and layered volume, varied body poses were essential to showcase the dress's contours while remaining mindful of avoiding wardrobe slips or disturbing the wig.

The convention floor was lively and bustling, truly giving that magical sensation of meeting the Puppeteer in person. Many fellow fans came over for photos and greetings. Despite the dense crowd around us, the spatial compression of the 85mm prime lens made it feel as though only me and my props existed in the frame, creating a wonderful state of deep immersion. In truth, for this look, I ran several makeup tests beforehand and calibrated the petticoat's curvature to ensure flattering silhouettes whether seated or standing. While the brown ankle boots looked gorgeous, walking around all day was undeniably tiring; seeing the finished photos, however, made everything worthwhile. This look achieved high fidelity, where costume, props, hair, and makeup complemented each other seamlessly. When shooting, focusing on posture and gaze guarantees that the event photos will turn out splendidly.
