[Ramiel cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Dark Gothic Aesthetic in a Discontinued Studio

For this Ramiel cosplay shoot, the biggest challenge was securing this Discontinued photo studio just in time; paired with the character's haughty, cool-toned aura, the entire session was both tense and exhilarating. When I first received the costume, I spent considerable time studying its finer construction. The short pink bob with blunt bangs accented by black ribbon bows and star-shaped clips carried immediate, striking recognition. To align with canon, I adjusted my makeup by deepening the reddish wash along the outer corners of my eyes, hoping to project that aloof detachment laced with subtle danger before the lens.

The wardrobe's layering was remarkably rich. The upper body featured a form-fitting black corset with a crisp white pointed collar, accented at the neckline with a metallic cross-star emblem, zippers, and corset lacing. The sleeves were made of sheer black mesh finished with ruffled cuffs, paired with long black evening gloves. The lower half paired a black miniskirt with sheer black Stockings adorned with thigh rings and strapping, grounded by slender black strappy stiletto heels. Standing fully dressed before the mirror, even I felt that the silhouette and dramatic presence had locked into place perfectly.

The mood on set relied heavily on environmental design. The backdrop was pure abyssal black, flanked on the right by draped crimson curtains of intense saturation, creating punchy visual contrast. The floor was laid with black reflective sheeting scattered with loose red rose petals, complemented by a black wrought-iron birdcage prop positioned on my right. The photographer adopted a low-key lighting scheme, focusing highlights narrowly across my face, bare skin, and the metallic hardware of the outfit—crisply carving out bodily contours and the rich tactile textures of the fabrics.

Throughout the shoot, seated on the glossy floor, I explored diverse postures. Lifting my right hand to lightly caress the collar was choreographed to telegraph an effortless sense of dominance and control. In seated poses, I kept my limbs elongated to flatter leg proportions, showcasing the delicate tonal transitions between the sheer mesh and black stockings. Under low-key lighting, maintaining sharp facial focus and eye contact required micro-adjusting my posture repeatedly to align with the key light angles.

Regarding character interpretation, I felt a degree of apprehension when studying her lore. Ramiel has an exceptionally sharp personality and deep backstory in the source material, and the name Remielle carries immense narrative weight. My own personal demeanor naturally differs from hers, so throughout makeup and shooting, I worked hard to bridge that gap through subtle details—such as how my eyes locked focus and the measured restraint in my physical gestures. Regardless, this set cannot possibly match the exact vision held by every single fan, and I offer my sincere apologies if anything comes across as OOC.

The magic of anime and gaming culture lies in how each person forms a unique interpretation of a character, and cosplay is the tangible manifestation of that understanding. Being able to complete this shoot in this Discontinued photo studio was truly special. Fabricating the set and engineering the light required immense energy; to catch the optimal highlights, I held uncomfortable poses on the cold floor for so long that my legs went numb. Yet seeing the final frames where black, crimson, and pink intertwine seamlessly made every ounce of toil deeply rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed this atmospheric exploration.
