Let's jump straight into the try-on experience of today's new dress. This blue-and-white Lolita fashion style outfit is full of design sense from the cut to the details, especially the pinafore dress section, which is unlike the traditional loose outerwear, as its tailoring is very unique.
Today, I mainly want to share the process of figuring out how to wear it. There is a long strap on the side of the dress. When trying it on, I studied it and found that you must firmly tighten the straps on the side of the pinafore dress and pull them to the right position. This way, the waist will have that cinched, cupping feel, fixing the upper body in place so the skirt hem can flare out naturally. Although I'm not sure if this is the officially recommended correct way to wear it, after my own modification, it indeed makes my proportions look great when worn on the body, giving off a very wrapped sense of lightness. Once put on, a sense of confidence spontaneously arises, making me feel like the smartest person in the world.
The light blue wig inherently has many fine glitter particles. Under this indoor overhead lighting, the reflections have a flowing ice-crystal feel. Combined with the white mesh on the head plus the giant dark blue bow, as well as a few snowflake-shaped hair accessories I clipped on, the character's ice attribute characteristics are beautifully echoed in the accessories. For the makeup, I chose a clean and translucent texture paired with light-colored contact lenses, hoping to present a cold yet energetic state. The red fine string at the neckline is absolutely the soul accent of the entire look, adding this dash of red amidst the heavy blue, white, and gray cold tones instantly gives the frame more layers.
However, today was not all smooth sailing. Just as I finished my makeup and was preparing to go out, my little cat suddenly threw up a pinkish liquid. At that moment, I was completely terrified; I immediately dropped the wig in my hand, scooped it up, and rushed straight to the pet hospital. Registration, blood tests, stool checks, and X-rays—the whole series of procedures cost me a full thousand grand. In the end, the doctor told me that it was actually completely fine. Combining its diet and its usual habit of chewing on random things, the doctor judged there was a high probability it ate some snack with red food coloring or chewed up a small red plastic object. Although the money spent stings a bit, as long as the master is safe and healthy, spending money for peace of mind counts as spending money to avert disaster. This guy instantly revived with full health after returning home, eating even more than usual, jumping up and down, and even trampling all over the box where I pack my clothes, as if that weak, vomiting little cat from earlier wasn't it at all.
Although today's photoshoot plan was disrupted by this little interlude, since the clothes were already on, it would be a shame not to take a few pictures. The lace sleeve details of this outfit are top-notch, the skirt hem features an asymmetrical cut, and with the snowflake embroidery on the dress, the overall texture is superb. Paired with white lace-trimmed socks and black patent leather loafers, I am highly satisfied with the completion rate of the overall styling. As someone who half-bakedly messes around with fashion, being able to find a wearing style that suits me from the garment design and successfully putting on this complexly tailored dress is already a sense of achievement in itself.
Sudden surprises in life always break plans, but after putting on this outfit, that inside-out playfulness and confidence still allow one to maintain a good mood. Compared to spending time agonizing over poses and composition, I enjoy researching the wearing details of the dress and the process of how costume, makeup, and props complement each other much more.
