This photoshoot was dedicated to Kiriko's Inari Fox skin from Overwatch. To faithfully recreate this traditional Japanese aesthetic, significant care was invested in the wig styling and accessories. The deep teal short bob was paired with plush pink-and-white fox ears, while the red cords, metallic bells, and white pom-poms suspended beneath the ears were meticulously secured to ensure they stayed anchored during dynamic movements. The crimson forehead seal and subtle red accents at the outer corners of the eyes, complemented by amber cosmetic lenses, infused the facial expression with the lively cunning of a fox spirit.
The outfit features an asymmetrical color-blocking design of cyan and deep navy, adorned with red cords and golden bells across the chest, complemented by a white fox mask with vermilion markings at the waist. To ensure the gilded cloud motifs caught the studio strobes with crisp texture, the skirt pleats were ironed smooth prior to shooting. Paired with white ankle Stockings and geta sandals with red thongs, navigating the studio required conscious center-of-gravity balance, though high leg kicks and seated poses showcased sleek, elegant leg lines. The cyan swirl markings on the arms and calves were rendered with specialized body paint, honoring her canonical shinobi heritage.
The session at Yumiao Studio was divided into two segments, with photographers 1-6Tian and 7-10 Hanlin capturing frames from distinct angles. Wielding a blue folding fan and shinobi kunai daggers alongside varied dynamic extensions—ranging from straight standing postures and high leg lifts to lateral perches and formal seiza seating—the focus was on channeling both vulpine playfulness and ninja precision. Because the plush tail carried considerable physical weight, its position required constant adjustment during seated poses to maintain its fluffy, organic silhouette from every angle.
Studio lighting was paramount: diffused softboxes brought out lush gradations across the plush tail and the reflective sheen of the garments. We also brought five chibi Kiriko plushies to the set, arranging them around the scene for charming vignettes that added delightful interactive warmth. The choreography demanded expansive, energetic movements, which naturally drained stamina by the time we wrapped. With countless intricate wardrobe accessories to manage, costume adjustments and makeup touch-ups accounted for nearly half the session time.
From styling hair and fine-tuning props to coordinating framing and blocking with the photographers, the creative process flowed remarkably well. Seeing the final selects made every minute of tedious accessory mounting and repeated posture rehearsals completely worthwhile. That wraps up this shoot record.
