[Shinobu Oshino cosplay] Summer Donuts and Katana Side by Side

The grey concrete ground outside the convention venue served as the location for this shoot. Since it was overcrowded inside the halls with cluttered backgrounds, we picked this relatively open spot. In fact, a Barefoot photoshoot on rough concrete really tests your endurance, especially when stepping on the inflatable swim ring—there was plenty of friction, but it felt quite stiff underfoot. The halter-neck design of this white dress can be somewhat sheer under direct sunlight; paired with the pink ribbon bow and pink skirt trim, maintaining overall color harmony was essential. Since we shot in daytime natural light that leaned cold and harsh, I specifically asked the photographer to place a reflector opposite the key light to fill with soft light, preventing overly heavy facial shadows. The blonde wig is a common style, but to better fit the character, slight curls were added to the ends, and the straw hat's position needed constant adjustment to avoid hard brim shadows cast over the face. In terms of props, the giant rainbow-sprinkled donut in the middle was inflatable—very lightweight yet bulky, requiring effort to stabilize during shooting so it wouldn't look awkward in photos. The small donut in hand was a rigid plastic prop with noticeable surface reflections. The katana on the ground remained sheathed; although it didn't need to be drawn, extra care was required while posing to avoid accidentally kicking it. We ran into many fellow anime fans at the scene, and surrounding light stands or passersby occasionally entered the frame, so a telephoto lens was used to crop them out, combined with a wide aperture to blur the background. The low-angle crouching pose in the second photo really tested coordination: sitting inside the swim ring with legs straight and arms outstretched put significant strain on the waist and made it easy for facial expressions to stiffen, so after a few shots, we switched back to the standing pose in the first photo. The overall convention vibe was fantastic; despite being tiring, it fully showcased the White dress styling details, from the elven-ear contacts to the overall Anime cosplay atmosphere. Prop and lighting management were also key focuses of this shoot: white clothing easily blows out in outdoor environments, so post-processing mainly focused on curves and levels adjustments to retain fold textures. The barefoot detail is also an iconic part of this look, requiring careful cleaning of the soles to avoid noticeable dirt from the concrete. Finally, a tripod in the background was subtly utilized as a supporting element to enhance visual depth.
