[Sailor Moon Cosplay] Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Summer Gathering Where the Light of Hope Shines Forever

Today's post presents a Cosplay convention photos set featuring our 422 Dance Troupe's full assemble.

As cosplayers, recreating classic older anime poses a greater challenge in detail than newer titles, because it requires far more than putting on clothes—it is a reverent recreation of childhood memories. This time, we didn't just gather Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus; the outer solar system guardians and Tuxedo Mask also joined in force. Counting Heize, Guanlan, Yishan, Aa, and Taopupu, our ten-member lineup filled a single frame with complete, well-layered depth—a huge testament to our photographer's direction.

Take the cover photo for instance: standing beside Guanlan (Sailor Uranus), our sailor outfits—one deep blue, one deep green—paired with color-matched high boots and a crossed-standing posture cleanly highlighted sailor collars, chest bow tie accents, and pleated skirt folds. We adjusted our core balance repeatedly during shooting; high-heeled boots elongate body lines, but prolonged standing severely tests ankle stability. To add visual dynamic tension, we utilized the venue's polished concrete floor, whose mirror reflection threw back high heels and long boots with vivid light-and-shadow depth.

When it came to makeup and styling, we selected color contacts closely matching original 2D artwork. Wig styling required immense care—especially Sailor Moon's blonde twintails with subtle gradient tones and Tuxedo Mask's deep, short black hair. We standardized sailor guardian chest brooches in a frosted metallic finish with genuine relief textures rather than cheap plastic stickers. Gloves featured slightly reflective elastic fabric fitted cleanly to mid-forearm, preventing slippage while boosting sleek costume lines.

Teamwork stood out as the highlight of this Cosplay convention photos shoot. In the five-guardian shot, Wenwen (Sailor Moon) struck the iconic crossed-arm peace sign pose, building incredible couple chemistry against Heize (Tuxedo Mask) in his crisp white shirt, black suit, and single red rose. Zhima (Sailor Mercury) and Baozai (Sailor Mars) shared authentic eye contact, perfectly capturing the deep bonds of sailor guardians from the original series.

Preparing these garments and accessories took considerable time, from verifying fabric tones to custom-fitting boots through endless sizing checks. On shooting day, studio air conditioning struggled, yet everyone persevered through three hours of posing and smiling inside thick, snug outfits. No one complained once; seeing everyone sparkle across the camera screen made every hardship completely worthwhile.

This shoot went beyond checking off character looks—I wanted to convey our shared passion uniting across time and space for this beloved masterpiece. The soul of classic anime lies not in basic multicolored palettes, but in the pure protective spirit woven into every detail. I hope our Anime cosplay photos allow everyone to see the pure, unwavering sparkle within these characters. This is the heartfelt answer we crafted together this summer.
