[Cartethyia cosplay] The Glory of Wuthering Waves' Saint: Willing to Plunge into the Abyss Wearing Glory

Bringing this Cartethyia cosplay photoshoot to life took over half a month from initial prep to final images, with most of the energy poured into refining details. As my absolute main hero, capturing her sacred yet aloof demeanor wasn't easy, especially when presenting her through a Saint cosplay aesthetic.

Starting with the styling: the wig features long straight golden-yellow hair with twin braids draping across the chest. Given its exaggerated length, it easily made the crown look flat, so I added internal padding to the roots to achieve a fuller, dimensional silhouette. The elf ears props needed to fit the ear contours seamlessly, smoothed along the edges with scar wax so they looked natural in tight close-ups. Fastening the headpiece was equally challenging—the white branch motifs accented with blue star pendants had to be wedged precisely between the hair strands, or they would slide off the moment I tilted my head. The black neckband and metallic buckles were also custom-made, requiring delicate micro-adjustments so they stayed flush against the skin without feeling restrictive.

The costume has wonderful structural layering. The black inner layer and white outer coat form a sharp contrast, while the golden metallic piping along the outer coat catches the studio lights with gorgeous reflections. The blue gradient sheer tulle at the back was the visual soul of the outfit, though it required an assistant constantly smoothing it out during shooting to preserve that weightless, fluttering drape. For the white branch-like ornaments along my arms and ankles, I secured them with fine invisible monofilament thread, keeping them faithful to the character design without snapping off during movements.

The commissioned studio set was thoughtfully constructed. A blue background paper paired with a white screen featuring geometric cutout patterns, flanked by hydrangeas and deep blue velvet drapery, built a tranquil, Fantasy style cosplay realm bathed in blue. For the first three sets, I chose seated postures. Crossing my legs not only flattered the leg lines but also grounded my center of gravity. When hugging my knees, I gently adjusted the angles between my thighs and arms to look poised and graceful rather than hunched up. The clear high-heeled sandals and golden ankle chain provided lovely bonus touches.

The standing shot wielding the prop sword was saved for last. The sword itself carries noticeable weight, demanding simultaneous wrist and forearm engagement to maintain a sleek, diagonal poise. Meanwhile, to convey a saint's weightless grace, I incorporated a single-leg lift. This severely tested my core balance, as I also had to manage facial composure. I kept reminding myself not to let my gaze look too fierce, infusing it instead with a touch of detached compassion while relaxing my lips to match her canon persona.

While the process meant endless micro-adjustments to posture and wardrobe, seeing the final photos made every bit of fatigue melt away. The garment textures, set atmosphere, and prop nuances met and even surpassed my expectations. This shoot felt like turning in a deeply satisfying homage to my favorite character, making for a truly rewarding Anime cosplay photography experience.
