From pattern making to the final fitting, this Robin costume went through roughly three rounds of adjustments. The purple satin fabric looks stunning under studio lights, but even the slightest glare becomes glaringly obvious, so we had to be extremely mindful of lighting angles during the shoot. The skirt design is the core focus of the entire outfit; the layered structure combined with a black lace hem creates wonderful fluffiness during walking and spinning. To capture dynamic snapshots of the skirt in motion, I tried multiple leg kicks and turns, finally nailing that perfect shot where both the skirt flare and the train flowed simultaneously.

For the wig, it features long, light periwinkle curls, with bangs trimmed into a natural curve. The braids along the left temple and the pearl hairpins were all sewn on by hand piece by piece. To support the floating halo above my head, the stylist built a hidden framework inside the wig; I was worried it might fall off during the shoot, but thankfully it held remarkably well. The white feather ornaments on both sides of the head also underwent several angular adjustments to achieve the most natural placement, ensuring they wouldn't obscure the contours of my face.

The makeup highlighted the eyes: green contact lenses paired with glitter at the outer corners delivered a unique, luminous quality on camera. The base makeup was kept matte to prevent studio lighting from washing out facial depth. For the lips, I chose a soft pink to match the character's elegance, avoiding heavy, dark colors to keep the whole look clean and fresh.

The dark purple over-the-knee Stockings on the lower half are truly one of the souls of this look. To guarantee a snug fit, I selected a matte yet elastic fabric that wouldn't reflect glare or easily slide down. Paired with platform dark navy high heels, it effectively elongated my leg lines, though maintaining balance during dynamic action shots was quite a challenge. To catch that flying hemline, I practiced shifting my center of gravity multiple times, coordinating left-hand gestures with the right hand resting on my hip, all while keeping facial expressions composed and free of visible strain.

The gloves in hand and the metal cuffs on the wrists were subtle details too—the gloves needed a form-fitting cut, and finger gestures had to remain relaxed and natural. Against the solid-colored studio backdrop, the color gradations of the outfit stood out vividly; in particular, the subtle jacquard prints and golden piping on the skirt possessed rich texture straight out of the camera, requiring hardly any post-processing.

Robin's poses inherently carry a lot of expressive tension, so I focused on projecting an upright, confident poise—keeping shoulders open and back straight—which supported the costume well while channeling her personality. The long train required careful arranging during static poses, whereas in motion it served to visually extend the frame. After several attempts, we found the rhythm to let both the skirt and the train billow gracefully together. This entire shoot was a wonderful endeavor, seamlessly fusing intricate costume details with character essence into a photo set I am deeply satisfied with.
