[Sandrone Cosplay] Genshin Impact Marionette's Teleportation Magic

"What tea party invitation—I don't want to go! How did I get teleported the very next second!"

When shooting this Sandrone set, this sentence was literally my inner thoughts. One moment I was in my head imagining the tsundere pose of rejecting those boring social gatherings, and the next moment I was already sitting in front of the set, surrounded by lights and cameras, immediately entering the mindset of this Marionette character. Shooting two completely different scenes this time also gave me a deeper understanding of the character.

Let's talk about makeup and styling preparation first. The most attractive part of this outfit lies in the ruby pendant at the neckline and the black-and-gold collar design—elements that are both gorgeous and slightly mysterious, perfectly fitting the Marionette theme. The wig is a light blonde blunt-bang hairstyle, and I deliberately made soft curls at the sideburns and ends to add light floatiness to the hair strands. The eye makeup wasn't overly heavy; warm tones and a bit of reddish-brown eyeshadow were used to match the overall skintone, and the lip color was chosen with a hint of berry red, which brightened my complexion without stealing the spotlight from the costume. The fabric of the costume is also very special—a black-and-white paneling dress with exaggerated yellow cuff lining, along with a pair of detachable black sleeves. Every time I raised my hand to hold props, the layered colors of the outfit were visible.

In terms of props and details, the feather pen and blue letter in my hand were the soul props of this shoot. To make this "just-written invitation" look more vivid, I deliberately added some creases and a slightly yellowed antique texture to the bottom of the letter. Combined with the pen-holding pose, it evokes thoughts of her planning a grand yet slightly mischievous gathering. My partner for this shoot kept praising my posture for fitting the character's tone so well—I guess it's because I held on to that Marionette-like elegant and haughty aura the whole time.

The scene design this time was very thoughtful, and we shot in two completely different color tones. The first three photos were taken in a retro indoor set with deep blue curtains and intricate gold patterns in the background, a warm yellow vintage table lamp on the side, and candles and wine bottles set on the table. This warm-toned ambient light was very gentle, giving a strong feeling of being inside a European-style cottage. The photographer captured this cozy and quiet atmosphere just right, making the character in the photos look full of story.

On the other hand, the last photo of sitting on a white crescent moon shifted to a cold-toned studio. The cool blue background light shone upon the white moon prop, pure white Roman pillars, and surrounding flowers, creating an ethereal and dreamy feel. This contrast in light and scene instantly transitioned the character's aura from gentle to cold and distant. Especially sitting on the edge of the moon wearing white stockings and high heels with red straps, the strongly contrasting color tones beautifully highlighted the lines of the lower body and the layers of the costume—this is also a full-body composition that I personally love very much.

Throughout the cosplay creation process, the most important thing to overcome was maintaining excellent posture and expression. The character's setting itself is refined and calm, so I tried to control the amplitude of micro-expressions, mostly looking straight at the lens or looking down at the letter with lowered eyes, trying to convey emotions through my eyes rather than relying on exaggerated expressions. During the shoot, switching back and forth between indoor and outdoor sets in this costume was quite physically demanding. I had to touch up my makeup several times midway, especially being careful not to snag the delicate collar and sleeves on the edges of the set.

Shooting with this outfit was a very interesting experience—enjoying European retro elegance while also finding the calm composure of a "controller" in a dreamy cold-toned scene. The photography team also really understood how to capture light, shadow, and character angles, cleanly rendering prop details and costume silhouettes. I hope everyone likes this work with decent fidelity; every carefully prepared cosplay is a brand-new dialogue with oneself and the character.
