Putting on this bachelor's gown of the character from Genshin Impact, shooting in a school setting instantly maximizes the atmosphere of the graduation season. To celebrate the birthday of the Grand Architect Kaveh, we chose a campus environment to complete a set of Alhaitham/Kaveh oriented graduation photos, which beautifully fits the character's inherent academic background and personality. As cosplayers, we spent quite a lot of energy to restore the character traits, especially the two different styles of mortarboards, as well as the inner shirts and ties—these are all details that can withstand the test of close-up camera lenses. It perfectly illustrates a dedicated school cosplay project.

This shoot was mainly completed near the school's outdoor steps and wooden benches. The red anti-slip coating of the steps and the silver-gray metal railings on both sides form an excellent guide of geometric lines, making the frame rich in layering. Sunshine filters through the layered green tree leaves, casting mottled light and shadow on the ground and characters; this soft atmosphere brought by natural light is very hard to replicate in studio shoots. Photographer @尘枫 was exceptionally patient with snapshotting dynamics, such as that moment when we sat side-by-side on the steps, with one hand propping on the surface, beautifully preserving our casual body language. There is also that lens capturing a backward glance while climbing the stairs hand-in-hand, cleverly utilizing backlighting to create a gorgeous light-filtering effect on the golden hair and the edges of the bachelor's gown contour.

The bachelor's gown itself is a loose fit, so to bring out the character's original capable temperament, tight-fitting treatments must be executed properly inside the waist and neckline. Although the silver-gray-haired and golden-short-haired characters both wore bachelor's gowns in terms of clothing, distinctions were made in the color scheme of the shawls and the colors of the ties. The character with light gray hair color selected a dark-colored patchwork tie, while the other set paired a plaid tie with a bright-colored shawl; this color difference appears to complement each other beautifully when the two enter the frame side-by-side, avoiding a monotonous look since the clothing is entirely black.

For the theme of Kaveh's birthday, the graduation scene is not only a symbol of academic achievement but also acts like a special gift for this architectural designer. During the shooting process, we tried to find some illusions within the daily school locations that weren't so deliberate, looking more like pausing casually. That image on the bench with one hand holding the mortarboard brim carries a subtle sense of interaction and playfulness. Meanwhile, the completely relaxed posture of sitting on the stairs makes people feel that the character has stripped away a layer of aura from the game, becoming closer to everyday lifestyle. This showcases the depth of graduation photo cosplay.

The entire outdoor shoot was very physically consuming. Especially to let the perspective on the steps present a better depth of field, we repeatedly adjusted our sitting postures and foot placement positions. The boots and trousers under this perspective can also contour the leg shapes beautifully, which, paired with the natural drape of the bachelor's gown hem, looks relatively upright in overall visual effect. Being able to use such a set of works carrying a lifestyle vibe to celebrate the birthday of a favorite character is highly commemorative. I hope this natural and casual graduation-themed cosplay allows whoever sees it to feel that unique youthful aura belonging solely to the campus environment. It stands as a wonderful memory of Alhaitham/Kaveh.
