[Sandrone Cosplay] Fatui Harbinger in a Sunflower Field from Genshin Impact

The photoset for this Sunflower outdoor photoshoot of Marionette, the 7th of the Fatui Harbingers (Puppet Cosplay), has just been organized. Choosing sunflowers for the main outdoor shoot was because this large-area, highly saturated bright yellow neutralizes the cool black, blue, and white tones of the outfit while letting red and gold accents pop vibrantly, achieving both visual contrast and harmony. Regarding accuracy in this Sandrone Cosplay, her design is intricate—especially the black collar with gold trim and ruby-textured chest emblem, requiring high tailoring precision. Complementing the light blonde wig, I selected violet-blue gradient contact lenses to match character eye details, keeping base makeup clean and translucent with soft lip texture to highlight her elegant yet cool demeanor.

The outfit itself possesses rich layering, notably the detachable ruffled sleeves and multi-layered skirt splicing, allowing graceful, expansive poses during outdoor shoots. To match her mature aura while injecting dynamic energy into shots, we designed skirt-lifting poses—such as in the cover photo—which showcase leg lines while fully displaying complex skirt textures and gold trim. This subtle hint of allure creates an intriguing tension with her dignified character nature.

The weather on shooting day was overcast with thick cloud cover providing evenly diffused light. Under this light, there were no sharp shadows across facial features, preserving fine leather and metallic costume textures to the fullest. Though lacking bright sunny contrast, this gave the color palette a rich, vintage depth. Observing the right side of some photos reveals light stand poles; to overcome darker ambient light, we added a fill light for key facial lighting, ensuring three-dimensional facial contours and bright catchlights in the eyes.

The undulating terrain of the sunflower field inspired high-angle and wide-angle perspective shots—such as high angles showing fields stretching into the distance or reaching out toward the lens using wide-angle distortion for immersive presence. The fitted waist and gold patterns on the skirt were executed meticulously; paired with skirt-lifting motions, they captured the composed posture characteristic of her Genshin Impact lore. This was an artistic exploration blending costume accuracy with natural vitality. Despite field insects and squatting repeatedly along ridges to frame shots, seeing her persona fuse with the vibrant yellow flower sea made every effort worthwhile in this 2D Cosplay.
